Title: Random question on Obituaries
Post by: Bulldog9 on April 25, 2020, 09:08:50 AM
Polling the collective braintrust.

I'm not particularly skilled 'internet search master' but get along.  I am trying to confirm a recent death and have the person's name, date of death, and state, but cant find anything in the way of death notice of obituary. ANyone have a good search engine or recommendation on this?   MTF............

Go to Google and enter the information you have.

For example:

"Marian J. Santo

Ocean View, Delaware

1928 - 2020 (Age 91)"

I entered "Marion Santo obituary" and got many returns.

Yeah, I had tried that and several other resources. I have done a fair bit of this when I worked at Arlington to prep for funerals and burials, but came up with nothing.  BLUF, I received a phone call from someone telling me the buyer of my MGX passed away 2 weeks ago and if I would buy the bike back. That's not an option, but am happy to assist with listing for sale.  Odd to find no information or death notice anywhere.

Something feels wrong about this , do you have contact info for the person who bought the X21 ? This feels a bit like a scam .

I am 90% there too, but would hate to think that if true. I'm thinking if not scam, buyers remorse. No answer to text or calls. Got the info on a voicemail, and called back stating what I said above, but no call back.

Sad either way.

There is no law that an obituary must be posted. And have you seen how much one costs? My mom paid about $900. For my dads in the Minneapolis star tribune and a similar amount for the St Paul pioneer press.
