I have this Benelli 250 2c Electronica that I'm trying to put together which needs a chain,I have the old one which is kink so NG. it is close to my KLX250 which is a 528 but seems a little shorter, the manual I have just says 114 links. Anyway I can figure out what size it is? I went on a Benelli 250 :rolleyes:forum and was told a 428 but that seems to small. They also told me the wrong spark plug. Not the same knowledge we have here.

Both the chains you mention have the same pitch (distance between roller pins ) but one is a 1/2" wide and the other(528) is 5/8" wide.
But I'm not too sure what your question is ? Peter

There is such thing as a narrow link version of some chains mostly used on dirtbikes.

Yes , but it still has a size .The width of the sprocket pretty much determines the size (width) of chain , no ? Peter

What dimension would I measure on the old chain to get the size. No markings on chain or sprocket.

Answered my own question . Measure the roller.

So it looks like the 428 is the correct chain for the bike.
