March 20 I ordered a set of Gilardonis from TLM in Netherlands for my 79 G5, addressed to my home in BC Canada. TLM shipped the order a couple of days later. International tracking shows that the package left the Netherlands on March 24. Canada Post tracking shows that the order has not been received as yet by Canada Post. There has been no update to the information since the March 24 date.
While I understand that in these crazy virus days I can expect a delay in postal services, does a wait of over 4 weeks suggest that there might be a problem? Any advice as to whether or not I should start lobbying TLM for replacement or refund? Or should I just cool my jets and be patient?

I’m still waiting for parts coming from both Italy and China that I ordered beginning of April. Conversely, I ordered a pair of gloves from Urban Rider on Sunday and received them Tuesday. I was afraid I’d burn myself touching them since they arrived so quickly. I’ve checked in on both those earlier orders, and was assured they’re on their way. The Italian ones are now stuck in Customs.

I would sit back and be very patient in these difficult times, I have a number of items ordered back in the early days of march and two arrived yesterday , one from Harpers and one from TLM Netherlands. and I have been following their tracking and they had never left the states and Netherlands but arrived in Australia . So even tracking is not working in these times . Hopefully my other parcels will arrive soon.

Yeah, I guess you guys are right. I'll just try to be more patient. Nothing I can do about it. I am just concerned that the package got lost, but I guess Ill just wait.

Blackcat ordered a set of Lafranconi mufflers from HMB in Germany the end of February and just got them. They were in Customs for 2 months.

I ordered some headers from Teo Lamers at the end of March and the last post from PostNL on March 26th indicated in route to country of destination. And that’s all there is, I assume it will show up in a few more weeks. Given what is going on, it’s not too surprising.

Wow - reading this give me hope! My shipment from the Netherlands is the same - shipped to USA March 26 and dissappeared. Nothing since. Maybe the ship sank?

BTW - the USPS website suggests that the earlier you make a claim, the better - but it needs to come from the sender.
After spending a couple hours with the USPS website and phone maze I got to a person who answered some questions.
She said the lost package search or claim must come from the sender because they have paid the shipping cost. She also said that, despite the record saying "sent to country of destination" it may still be in NL or in customs. (don't know whether customs is in US or Europe) USPS cannot or will not do a search (because they don't have a scan record?) unless PostNL says "where the hell is the package we gave you?" and give them manifests or other specific records. Additionally the USPS website suggests that the earlier you make a claim the better.
On a hopeful note, A couple years ago during an unremarkable time in history, I had an order shipped from the UK that normally takes about 10-12 days, but was a month late. I called the vendor (Draganfly Motorcycles) and asked them to track it. They ship economy, so no tracking. They just sent a new package. Their new package arrived in 10-12 days. A few days later the first package arrived about 2 months late! It usually gets where it should eventually.

Curious, was there an issue with the stock cylinders?

I am glad to see this thread. I ordered a part for a non Guzzi bike from the states to Australia in early March. I have been nervous as the seller was very vague to deal with after payment and does not have the tracking number. I will give it a few more weeks and if nothing comes, try and deal with it through Ebay and Paypal.
I am hoping it is sitting in a customs warehouse somewhere, or I can get it sorted as the $500 is better in my pocket. I would much prefer the bit.

Curious, was there an issue with the stock cylinders?
This bike I bought from an inmate in Illinois last year (sight unseen) was pretty poorly maintained. At some point the PO must have run with a real tight valve lash, as one exhaust valve was burnt and corroded pretty badly, not restoreable and the rest of them in poor condition. Leak down test was not impressive. I put in new guides and valves all round. There was a lot of piston slop one side as well, and scoring on the big end bearings. One piston was badly scuffed and the cylinder wall to match. I suppose I could have simply bought new rings, pistons and bearings, and bored the cylinders, but I decided to go with a complete new top end.
Lesson learned.

The whole system is overloaded and I think there are probably staffing issues as well.
From tracking numbers, I've had stuff stuck in Chicago for a longgg time on it's voyage; and a seat I bought recently, made it across the border in good time, then sat in a local warehouse only 15 miles away, for close to a week before it showed up on my doorstep yesterday.
I know it's disconcerting as the tracking numbers go into the black hole coming across the ocean, but patience should bear fruit.
Good luck

Slow shipping , back ordered ! No no no . It is one of the new lines of Bovine scattology ! You’re AWAITING FULLFILLMENT ! It fits nicely with “your call is very important to us” & the Check is in the mail , etc. etc

I'm having problems with several customers out of the US who haven't received packages I sent by USPS a month and a half ago. I've had to temporarily stop filling orders for non-US customers because I can't afford to build CDI units and ship them, only to have to give refunds to angry customers.
-
Yep, that is what mine says too.
Hey Blackcat, any change in your shipping status?
Mine hasn't changed since March 26.

I had ordered some parts from TLM in the Netherlands a few years ago, and they took a bit more than a month to get to me, eventually it turns out they were held up in customs in Chicago for weeks on end...no explanation given, but they finally arrived...so I'd say give it a few more weeks.
Needless to say there was no tracking available, so you're in limbo just waiting.
Contrast that to ordering from Stein Dinse in Germany just a few weeks ago, the order was paid for, shipped, tracked and delivered in less than a week...absolutely amazing customer service and delivery.
Guess who I'll be using to order from going forward??

I spoke to my mail carrier here in Ottawa- same thing. He's swamped.

Looks like things are starting to move. I see the status of the cylinders I ordered from TLM in March has now been updated to say that I may see delivery some time in the next 12 days. Hoorah!

Nope, nothing on my end though it finally showed up on the USPS website for like a week but now it’s gone. March 26th was the last posting from PostNL.

I've been having trouble with FedEx orders. Last one took nine days to get from Georgia to Arkansas. I try not to use FedEx, if I have a choice.
Interestingly, UPS and USPS are getting my CONUS packages delivered ahead of schedule.
BC (before -), DHL was getting me packages in days from Europe. I haven't ordered anything from over there in the past few months, so no up to date feedback to add.

I haven't had any real issues with domestic shipping from most sources, it's just been the packages from Europe not using UPS, FedEx or DHL. Now waiting for two items from Europe with the Lamers order approaching two months (in customs?) and a headlight from Greece that isn't showing up on any tracking. The mufflers took two months to finally show up here so I'm guess that is the bench mark.
