The Mk 2 is on the verge of sale and this is what happened after being in storage for ages.. https://youtu.be/-jagh383Gvw

KEEP IT!
-
What a beauty!
-
Keep it and sell those other two red dogs! It will still be running when the others are dead with none of those high tech electrical parts available.

Lovely :thumb:

I only regret selling two bikes. That would be the hat trick. Sounds wonderful.

She starts hard.
My dear old dad told me I should only sell a pistol in order to get a better one. It applies to motorbikes as well, looks like you should have that one around for awhile yet
-
My CX100 is the American EPA model twin for your bike; Yes it's not as sleek and desirable as the Lemans 1, and might not be as refined as some other models, but I could never sell mine.
There have been discussions on whether bikes have soul, I won't get into that thread drift, but I will say, that bike will always have a special place in my heart and garage.
The camera didn't capture it, but I'll bet the farm that when that bike started up and settled into a rumbling idle, you had a sh*t eating grin on your face, can you put a price on that?
As someone else mentioned, there's a lot to be said for having a non digital guzzi in the herd, just in case all the ECU's, digital LCD dashes, TPS sensors etc decide to go udders up.
When it's gone, it's gone, you'll never find another.
Good luck
Kelly

Looks like the one on Gumtree?
That will be a great buy for someone!

If the guy who looked at it today wants it, I will facilitate the sale.
He wants it for all the right reasons and it’s his until he says otherwise. He is ok by me, very old school and trustworthy.

KEEP IT!
I consider the potential new owner as a custodian.
It therefore does not matter too much to me if he takes it on instead of me, as long as his heart is in it..
He certainly ticked the boxes for me in that regard. I have seen his Le Mans 3 and he is a worthy recipient, otherwise he’d not have secured it for twice the agreed price...

Excuse me I have to leave now and go ride as many miles as possible today, period. How can you listen to that and NOT?...its purring to me....geez I love motorcycles.
Ya know, I got an SP that needs to be assembled..maybe I'll go do that..
But that sound just lights all my memory muscles about honking around on a guzzi..
Thanks for posting that!

Shit...!
So what you’re trying to say is that it’s all my fault ?
Guilty as charged I say...!
Cop an optic on this..!

Hard decision.......... If you dont have the heart or interest in keeping, riding, etc, and the buyer wants if for the right reasons (not gonna hack it up) then sell. If it's been sitting a while, better to have it go to someone who will love on it and ride it. Thats what happened with my Convert. PO had it 15 years and rarely rode it.
Love the V85 in Red, wish it was available in the US (other than a $1000 panel swap).

I can only take 37 seconds of that ...damn you!
I'll have to slowly absorb this one hour of madness...thanks.
Thanks a lot . . . .

HUZO - THANK YOU for this...... I'm grounded for another 50 days, and can't wait to ride again.

There are a couple of continuity errors in that version.

Makes me miss my 78 SP so much. After a lot of futzing in the first few months of owning it, flip that choke and just barely touch that start button and the thing would instantly start on the first stroke of rotation EVERY time and settle in to perfect idle instantly. Don't think anything else I've ever owned (cars, bikes, lawnmowers) ever seemed so eager to go.

Yes mate..
You can just tell when they’re keen. Normally on May 4th I’d be collecting my Norge in London to head for Dover/Calais..
Instead this year it’s off to Adelaide tomorrow in a b double truck...!
Pffftttt....

Careful guys, Strayans are tricksy!
If Huzo is trying to get a bidding war started, it was a great tactic.
Opinions without cash offers are worth about, um, uh,
Weird how the red Guzzi on the lift looks vertually identical to my 2007 Nevada 750, but no one wants my Nevada......
No accounting for taste.
-
It’s ok to pass it on, as you said you are only the current custodian. I have let quite a few very nice Guzzi’s go to new caretakers in the past couple years and I don’t regret passing them on. No way I can keep them all and give them the attention they need. If it wasn’t for - I would have a couple more on the block.
-
It's a nice one, keep or sell it's still gonna be a nice one
-
Beautiful bike. The trouble with selling something so nice is that if you want another one in a few years time.....ask the buyer to contact you first if he ever sells it?

He would, but it’s better off with him.
Fact is, I really don’t enjoy it much on the road and useless for what I do now. He cares about it and I’ve seen his work.
Not a Canuck 750 or fence post Guzzi dude, but neither am I on that score.

I am sure if you sell it you will have some regrets. But if you don't enjoy it like you used to or are or using it, selling is the way to go.
I have seen it happen before with cars, bikes and parts. The owner does not use the item but does not want to sell, which is their prerogative. As it happens to all of us they get older and they loose the ability/desire to maintain their collection. Water or vermin attacks the collection. At some point they go into a home or die. What was once an easily restoreable bike is now a mess and the parts appear to be rusty junk. The family takes the easy option and scraps the junk and may sell the bike.
I think you nailed it with you statement you are only the custodian. If the Guzzi still brings some joy, or you have genuine plans of a rebuild and new life together, keep her. If not find the best possible home for her and let her enjoy life.
Life is short, look to the future and don't let your possessions hold you back.

She’s gone..!
I feel like someone who’s re homed their pet because they cannot provide as good a life..
She’ll be right.

When we chatted Peter I was very surprised that you didn't enjoy riding the Le Mans. But if that's the case, move it on and ride what you do enjoy!
I'm the opposite. Since last September I've only been on my V85 twice whereas I try use my V7 Sport every week (lockdown permitting).
Good luck to the new owner!

You'll always have the memories Huzo. Cue the harp music and beach sunset scene.....
Like the hippy poster from the 1970's said: "If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was...."
