Dear WGers,
I am now de-Goose-ified but want to thanks this massive brain trust, and a great flock of illustrious characters, and semi-pro comedians! I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and learned a lot about Guzzi's and life in general.
I will probably lurk here from time to time, just to glean the odd nugget of wisdom that is occasionally, or accidentally dropped.

I sold my Guzzi 18 months ago, and bid the forum farewell then. But I kept checking back, and eventually started posting again.
This forum, like the bikes it celebrates, is addictive. The members are my friends, even though I've not met any of them in the flesh.

One of our members (I won't mention his name) has written me at least 3 times and stated he was leaving , has sold his last Guzzi , by gawd he is done with motorbiking all together . Yep , still around . No need to leave .

Technically, I really don't plan to leave, but I won't have any more stupid Guzzi questions to post for a while.
However, there might not be a shortage of stupid questions about any other aspect of life......

I don't there's a requirement for anyone here to own a motorcycle. Some post here like they've never seen one. :shocked:
I don't think I'd let motorcycle ownership to be a proviso. :wink:

Not moving away from bikes, just sold my Nevada 750. Nice bike, just not my cup of tea. I would always reach for the key to my Suzuki, KTM, or jump on the Beta first.
I'm glad I sampled the Moto Guzzi charm, and in a different part on the country, or with different riding companions, I would probably have kept it and sold one of the other bike.
My workspace is too small, barring the invention of some kind of device to warp the space time continuum......

I've heard some have been cured with the proper supervised application of psychadelic drugs and electro-shock therapy......

I'm sure the right model would have gotten under my skin more, but not the one I had.
On the plus side, an extremely enthusiastic 20 something got a good deal on a like new bike. He even brought over his elderly neighbor who owns a Norge and a 74 Norton Commando that he bought when it was two months old as a consultant/test rider.
I tried to swap the Nevada for the Norton, but it's tough to pull the wool over the eyes of some of those old guys.....

I've never ridden a small block, but I could envision you being a little underwhelmed with the bike when you're used to the kick in the pants put out by your big bore DR & KTM, and as you say if it's not the model of the brand for you and doesn't make your heart go pitter patter, keep what does.
I understand the constraints of limited space and time, perhaps a different model will cross your path, and one of those big singles might lose it's spot in the garage. :evil:
As you say, It's a very eclectic knowledge base here, the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked.
Inspired by Perazzimx's cooking and Cliffrod's bread thread, I recently attempted my first pizza dough from scratch; luckily I had just read the chainsaw thread and knew the exact saw tooth angle to cut through the 3/4" thick kryptonite like deep dish crust, at some point I will be reaching out to Cliffrod for further guidance and the perfect pizza crust recipe could be the result, are you sure you want to leave the campfire and miss that? lol :laugh:
No matter if and what you ride, know that you're always welcome here.

Yes Tell the new owner about the place. As you know the Guzzi world is a little different then most.. and setting the new owner on the right [errr it is the right isnt it???] track.

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by the zip and responsiveness of the Nevada. Twisting the throttle hard around 4000 rpm was actually very satisfying. Lack of HP was not the issue. More of just a riding preference thing.
Some of us who live on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains are cursed with a lack of straight roads........
I had so little money in it, I was tempted to keep it and experiment/modify it. Two inch longer rear shocks, plastic removal, simplify, etc.

now that you mention it, Ronkom's son was trying to sell me two Guzzi's when I bought the Nevada......... the other one was a California 1000, roughly 2001 IIRC.

Already did so. I told them both. The old guy (my current age + 5 years!) with the Norge and the Norton, knows Ronkom and another local Guzzi owner, but had never heard of this site. He plans to visit the site and reconnect with Ronkom and attend some post quarantine VA Guzzi lunches.
The yute who bought the bike lans to frequent the site, and was so excited he did not negotiate the price. He said "I should have negotiated the price but since I paid full price can I call you with any questions or ask for help?" I agreed and also gave him a mesh jacket that I was going ask a few bucks for. New rider, first bike, but seems loaded with common sense and good judgement. I think he will be fine.
