I'm enjoying my new wheels , but the passenger seat leaves something to be desired for my wife .
Before anyone makes a suggestion for a Corbin saddle , the answer is no .(once bitten twice shy).
Any stock saddles that might fit with a little work ? A one piece saddle would be prefered (I think).

I'm pretty sure that the one piece seat from the 1400 Touring is a direct bolt on for the Eldorado. Several owners here have made the change in order to mount the Touring hard cases on the Eldo. Do some searching on the forum as there are numerous posts on the subject out there.
Good Luck!

Yes, that is correct. You do need to remove the Eldo grab rail/seat mount which is easy. Just reinstall those bolts as they hold the rear fender as well.
If you desire a grab rail with a one piece seat, You will need a Hepco Becker rail. I think they have one with a backrest, but I'm not sure. ***Any factory rail from other 1400 series will not really work because of the additional mounting points under the fender.*** The Eldo fender is different than the others.
If HB does not have a rail with a back rest, I know they make one with a rack. You could put a box on there with a backrest if you wanted. Personally, I would be cautious about putting a big load in a box mounted to those racks since there is a lot cantilevered off the back of the 3 mounting points.

Why not have a good seat maker modify the rear section for your wife?

Thanks for the replies , I did do some searching before asking this question , but there were no pictured
examples , which would be really useful . Anyone with a pic or two would be much appreciated . It's a black
with white pinstripe Eldorado . Seat makers around here are scarce , most disappeared after '08 . Does anyone
here know of someone with a used one for sale ? I'm open to ideas . Peter

Search JohninPA. He has an Eldo set up like you are trying to do. He posted pics here on Wildguzzi too.

Thanks again guys, but I'm here in Burnaby , B.C ., so anything back and forth to the US would be way too much , our Canadian peso and all !
I'll try and find his pics (of JohninPA) . Peter

Any direct links to pics would be nice , the search for JohninPA turned up no photos . I'm
quite interested in persuing this . Peter

I located the thread where he had the pics, but evidently the hosting site is gone or something. A message stating no longer available is there.
If you look at any picture of a Cali Touring, you can see the seat. Since I haven't routinely carried a passenger I was more interested in maintaining the stock Eldo saddle on mine. I did add the Guzzi factory gel seat, but I didn't bother with the pillion. There is a gel option but it doesn't increase the real estate. For a passenger, the one piece off/for a Touring would be the cats meow.
This page will show your options for an aftermarket rack. They will all bolt right back to the 3 mounting points that holds the original.

Peter, if I remember your name ("moto-uno") if not excuse me; but I have a Moto Guzzi gel seat that is two up and a Corbin two up seat that I can sell as I ride solo and they came with the bike when I bought it. Email me if you want pictures etc.

Thanks again gentleman , but if anyone has a picture of the California seat on an Eldorado I'd love to see it .
I'm hoping someone here can post . Summer is approaching :azn:, Peter
