Title: Convert pump pressure
Post by: ray bear on May 23, 2020, 09:05:24 PM
Further to my last post where i mentioned my convert seemed to rev higher than what I considered normal, while updating my chain tensioner I removed the A.T.F.  oil pump pressure relief valve for inspection & noticed that the spring appeared too short and with the valve assembled I could hear the ball rattling when I shook the cover, further measurements proved about a millimetre free play so obviously the pump could not reach specified pressure. The ball is 5/16  or 7.91mm  and the spring is 1 5/32 or 29.26mm.  Can some one help me with the correct spring and ball size as my searching has come up with nothing. Spring tension will have to be a calculated guess when replacing.  Thanks

I measure the same 7.91 mm for the ball, the spring 1.321"/33.56 long. The "holder" it all fits into is 25 mm deep.
