I read somewhere that there are no stupid questions, just stupid people asking questions. So here I go....any chance the cast wheels off another model small block might fit the Nevada? I just keep thinking of those heavy steel wheels.

If they do, I have a set of cast wheels from my V7II Stone waiting for a new owner!

I believe the Nevada has a 16in rear wheel, & the V7's are 17 inch. (Point 1). I suppose it's well worth trying to see if it will fit, but there are complications, even if it fits in the chassis.
Some of the Nevada's have a different brake caliper. Nevadas have been around for a while, and seem to have used various calipers - there were some Nevadas that had 2 front discs, and others that had premium calipers. I do know that the 1TB V7's have a rear disc rotor, rear caliper & brake light pick up that is different from that on the earlier 2TB V7's (with the chromed steel rims). The earlier rotor does fit on the cast Stone wheel, but unsure whether your existing brake light sensor will work. I managed to get hold of a barely used earlier style rotor from Pinwall. Note that the rotor on my 2006 carbureted Nevada was the same as that on my 2010 V7 Classic, and the caliper & sensor pickup compatible.

I am jealous of those wheels, Dirk.
malik,
It is a 16" rear wheel, and at a glance (untrained eye, mind you) it seems plenty roomy enough under the fender and at the swingarm and such. I was wondering about the drive components, I never even thought so far as brakes. This may be one of those "just shut up and ride the thing" situations, and I'm OK if you want to say so. I don't mean to pick your brain in a painful way, I was hoping someone else might have taken a look at this and could offer their thoughts. But it's nuts to expect that, it doesn't seem as though there have been a handful of Nevada's in the entire history of the forum.

malik,
Your mention of the V7 Classic got me thinking, and a little searching found this thread:

Moto Fugazzi put Stone wheels on his '09 Classic, he sums it up in his last post:
"Rear wheel successfully installed tonight. Here's what you need if anybody else is converting a V7 Classic to V7 Stone cast wheels:
Front wheel: Nothing needed besides the cast wheel. The rotor swaps over with no issue at all.
Rear Wheel, you need:
Stone rotor, caliper, caliper carrier and speed sensor. The axle (spindle) and spacers from the Classic work perfectly. You'll also need the proper mounting bolts for the rotor and caliper as the Classics parts won't work.
The speed sensor cable is very long, and snakes along the bottom of the bike, then up next to ECU and ends up right behind the fuel tank (under the seat) and the connectors are a direct fit.
Since my Classic was paid off years ago, this was a worthwhile conversion for me, but if I was to do it again, I would just buy a newer Stone with the cast wheels.
Hope this helps others in the future.
Ken"
Complications, as you said, malik. More so with the Nevada, no doubt. Thanks again for your thoughts on the matter.

You might get lucky. If your Nevada's rotor is the same as the first one pictured in my previous post, all you'd need is the bare Stone rim - swap In your Nevada rotor & the caliper & sensor should work.

When I put Breva 750 wheels on my V7R the two 10mm ring spacers on the front brake caliper need to be removed do to different caliper offset and also the rear axle and spacer were different offset. You can modify the stock or just buy new to match.

Another way to go would be to replace the rims with alloy ones...and maybe move up to 17 " on the rear. It'll give the bike a bit more top end ( though the 16" tyres are rather fat so maybe not so much smaller ) and could be much less trouble finding the right cast ones to use.Get yourself an up to date copy of Guzziology where all the variations of swinging arms, hubs etc should be listed.Mine dates back to the mid nineties and there have been quite a lot of changes to the small blocs since then .

I do have the first rotor malik pictured. Oh me.

Thanks again. I've been pondering, but will sit tight til we see who wins the Cadre raffle. Who knows, I might be pestering with V7 III questions instead.
