When the 1000 Lemans was new, many owners peeled off the day-glo orange stripes on the fairing. I never understood why because I liked them.
For years you could get new sets for the 850 Lemans III but not the 1000 Lemans.
So, when an NOS set popped up on eBay last year I figured it was a good time to work on recreating the stripes for my own bike, as well as Hunter's, whose Lemans is also missing the side cover strobe stripes.

I hated to open the package but it had to be done in order to scan them. Click on the pics to see the whole thing.

Once scanned I used Photoshop to adjust the tone, color, contrast, etc so that the stripes would be more easily visible through the backing.

Then I placed that scan into Illustrator and traced the outlines until they were as close as I could get.

Then I printed them, cut them out and went down to the basement for test fitting on my white '85.

I'm as please as can be with how they turned out. Andy's new SE still has his stripes so now it's a matter of matching up the color and getting the stripes made.

Nice work !
My Lemans came without Dayglo stripes and I left it that way. My Lario had them removed not long after I got it. Too lairy for me.
For the sidecover "strobe" or "gill" decals, you can go here : https://classictransfers.co.uk/ . They made some up for me a while back and they are now in their catalogue.
