Last year, I sold my V7 to buy a SWM Superdual X. I bought it new from Rosefarm. I put a lot into that bike. Mupo front fork kit, Ikon shocks, full stainless exhaust, had the seat redone with real pleats, heated grips, aluminum spoked wheels sealed to be tubeless, HB cases, etc.
Well, Chris called me a couple weeks ago and was asking me what I used to seal the wheels. I told him I missed the bike and a few days later, I am owning it again! I made one of my "windscreens" for it and now an absolute pleasure to ride. At 70 mph, it feels like you are doing around 15 mph windwise. Half helmet or leather cap, quiet enough to hear yourself talk at 70 mph. I am thinking of making a 3D printed version of this windscreen. The concept has worked on a handful of my motorcycles. Even the Superdual.
Then last weekend, I scored the aluminum cases, and added engine guards.
I gave the beetlemap a try and it has never run better. Best Guzzi injected bike I have ever ridden since his map.

Congrats on becoming a re-owner!
Curious—did he ask about the rim sealing because it eventually failed, or another reason? I’m planning to convert to tubeless with my newly acquired (used) spoked rims, and I’m comparing success/fail stories.

No, the rims are sealed with marine sealant. I added a little slime way back and he was concerned about washing it out.

Well, 3D printers can use a clear filament for printing. I am not looking for perfect vision as I look over all of mine. It's nice to see a little through it however.
It seems I want around a 60-70% restriction. House screen is about 50% and with the expanded metal, that's an ok estimate. I am thinking of printing a mesh that sort of looks like a tighter version of expanded metal but in a clear material. I can't find sheets of it otherwise I could cut, warm it, form it over an existing windshield for the correct curve.
#d printer would allow logos added which would make them more sellable.
Today, I rode to the job with my Nolan N30 and it was so pleasantly quiet.

You, probably more than anyone else I've ever known of, dive right into your bikes and make them totally unique to suit your needs, glad the bike has found it's way back into your caring hands. I'm sure for you, it must feel like family coming home. :bow:

I just replaced the stock rear shocks on my 2013 V7 Stone with Ikons from MG Cycle. Thanx for the tip.
