Title: Is There A MG Cycle For Older BMW's?
Post by: Tom H on June 02, 2020, 07:44:19 PM
I know that many dealers have web sites that you can buy online from. I've bought from Bob's and A & S. I'm trying to find an aftermarket site like MG Cycle. I'm looking for clutch plate, rear main seal and a few odds and ends.

I don't mind paying up for parts if that is the only way to get them. Just don't like feeling taken advantage of.

Thank you,
Tom

There's Hucky  https://www.bmwhucky.com  and several places in England - Motobins, Motorworks, and James Sherlock.

I didn't realize the Euromoto sold parts other then electrics.

I'll have to take some time and see what the sites listed have to offer. So far though, A&S has the best price for the clutch disc.

Thanks so far!
Tom

When you say "old" BMW, you mean your Slash 5? Then Euro Motoelectrics should be a good choice for most stuff. I'm not crazy about the quality of their control cables, so I buy those from MAX BMW, but everything else I've bought for my 1982 R100 has been excellent. I've bought all engine gaskets, carburetor kits and diaphragms, lots of rubber bits, and filters from EM and they've been fine. Much of what they sell is from the original suppliers to BMW.

A big +1 on Vech at BenchMarkWorks.   Rebuilt my R69s engine/trans in 1999.   Gladly helps troubleshoot over the phone, offer options/advice, etc.  He know what works and what doesn't.

Certain things like tanks, mufflers, and sheet metal that you don't mind waiting a little longer for...try Mark Huggett in Switzerland.   He runs the BMW Heritage program...same stuff the dealer gets.  Plus you usually get a big swiss chocolate bar mixed in with the packing.
