Title: Harpers clutch seal
Post by: ahoward125 on June 07, 2020, 03:04:11 PM
Hi,
Going to re-seal the clutch pushrod on my 02 v-11 and Harpers is sending me 2 seals that are not simple o-rings but rather "top hat" looking seals.
Q: which direction/how should I install them?
Anyone have experience with them and could chime in...

cheers

That sounds like the factory seals. I've had them leak a few times so I prefer the oring upgrade.
As far as I know, they can go in either direction. But then, mine did leak.  :boozing:

Can you double up o-rings and seals?
I need to look up the correct o-rings I guess...

Wide end toward front. I always put in the double o-ring plunger upgrade too since you're in there and it's not $$. Grease up seals a bit on installation.

But, like Wayne wrote, I've had them leak. I'll send you six of the correct sized o-rings for FREE, all I need is your mailing address.
