Title: OMG I love this bike!!
Post by: s1120 on June 22, 2020, 06:40:53 AM
Just took a quick hour ride over the backroads of upstate NY last night, and MAN...  Every time I ride this thing I love it more. Going on the second year of ownership of my 02 california Metal, and when you get this on those 45-55mph backroads.. and let her just boom down the road..  Power from the big twin is perfect..  Maybe not the thrust of a modern sport bike...  but the pull of this thing is like a draft horse putting its back into a load..  There really is something about these big twins..

Guzzis may not have a lot of horsepower, but the horses they have are Clydesdales, not Shetlands.

How's about a pic?

Don't see many of those Metals around. Can't say that I ever recall seeing one in the wild.

Yeah, know what you mean. I'm feeling the same way about my new LeMans III. There's something about these Guzzis that really grabs me.

That's not the way I heard it:

Moto Guzzi - making mechanics out of riders since 1921

Thought the exact same thing yesterday after a glorious 112 mile ride on my 1200 Sport! Those big twins!

Yep.  Spent Father's Day exploring new back roads in Amish country in Western NY.  The Jackal was in its' element.

3rd loves the tight stuff.. once you get to the open sweepers 4th is great for the streights, and enough booming urge for the slower corners..  Its normally a "set and forget" with the shifter on these roads.

I have the same bags painted to match the bike. They get a lot of attention for their great looks and perfect line that follows the bikes' line.

You know.. I was never a fan of bags at all. When I tripped over this bike [strangely only about 2 miles from my house! ] it came with them, and I expected to have them sitting at home on the shelf all the time..  OMG they are so darn handy!!!  They only come off for winter storage now.

True enough but its a labor of love! When someone asks me if they should buy a Guzzi I always check if they are comfortable around a tool box or have a good friend or relation who is. The bikes seldom have major failures but owner mechanical awareness is needed.

Ya.. spent about a hour messing around with my new Colortune I just got.  Got it close, but not perfect...  more fiddling around yet... always more fiddling, but shes running pretty good.. But it can always be better. :)   Thats half the fun.
