Title: Lafranconi red tips
Post by: rbond on June 25, 2020, 04:29:21 PM
I have just ordered a pair of Lafranconi 'competition' red tip mufflers. I think this has been asked before, but do I need to get a map from Beetle to make this run okay?

For any performance exhaust upgrade it is usually best to get a remap done for best results. This is what I have been told when ever I have asked about this when I was shopping for an exhaust for my V9.

If it's for the 2 throttle body V7C, this has the 15RC ECU, which seems to adjust adequately to various exhausts, thus a remap is not strictly necessary. Merely re-set the auto-learning (either via Guzzidiag, or by removing the neg terminal on the battery for, say, 10 minutes) & ride. It should settle in over a couple of hundred km. Beetle did have a map for this ECU with minimal changes, free of charge - email him on www.griso.org for details. The one on this site for the Lafranconi is for the 1TB with the MIUG3 ECU and won't fit.
