Tired of the dangerous coating of my rear tire with gear oil because Guzzi hires morons as engineers. Of course they tell lies like it is overfilled which i can tell ya mine has exactly 240ml in there that comes out now which is less than half of a dry fill and this was after a nice spirited 30 minute ride last night.

By no means an expert, but my understanding/experience is that this is from the fluid level being too high, but if you only put 240ml, you are WAY too low. If you have a V7ii or ii series, the proper amount is 500ML or .5 Liters of 75W/90. The older 5 speed transmissions were a full liter.
-
Calling the engineers morons is a little extreme, I have not heard any complaints like yours or am I wrong on that?
-
^^ The only way you can get a full liter in a 5 speed tranny (Le Mans2 or T-3) is if you fill it on the side stand  I believe you meant 3/4 liter . Peter

The V7 with 5 speed is a 1 Liter capacity.

Small-block five speed, not big-block.

Assuming you have a V7ii abs, drain out the oil (overnight preferably), carefully measure out 450 ml, and fill. On my v7ii, i had tried 500ml and it puked. As per Pete Roper's suggestion, i went with 450ml and it's never puke since.

I've not had an issue with puking using the 500ML. The OP said he put 240ML which is very low. No idea why he is having this issue, and unlikely it is related to fluid overfill.

I interpreted his post that 240 mL is all that comes out, not that it’s the amount he put in.

Either way, if a 6 speed is 1/2 recommended fill, and 1/4 if a 5 speed V7. Overheated and frothing causing the 'puking'?

Correct well actually 246ml is what I measured which is well below the 500ml fill (even with saying put 450ml or so in it has puked out an extra 200ml over the last 3000 or so miles. Only does it when riding in 6th gear above 80mph in the summer. Has Eni in it.

Just curious, how do you know how much "pukes out"? Do you drain What's left and measure that?
I have a 6 spd V7II that leaks a small amount of fluid, but I am pretty sure it is the transmission input shaft seal leaking. The excess fluid comes out a little hole in the bottom of the casing. Do you know where the fluid is coming from? Mine only leaks when the bike is being ridden. I get one drop on the floor when I park the bike, but never any more no matter how long the bike sits.

hes saying he put 450ml in and rode it 3000 miles during which time it puked... he then drained it and only collected 246ml.

Something to think about and a question.
When you changed the fluid, did you also pull the transmission filter and plug? I seem to remember a significant amount of fluid coming out when I did that.
If you didn't pull the filter, you didn't drain all of the fluid and when you added the 450 ml back into the transmission you likely overfilled it puking transmission fluid at every ride.
It is completely possible you likely overfilled your transmission if you "didn't pull both plugs" when you serviced it last.

Yes the fluid is drained the filter removed, cleaned and put back in. Ot is quite obvious where it is coming from. Directly out of the breather. Dealer is the one who after consulting with the lords at guzzi usa said it was overfilled. Obviously they would be wrong if after leaving in for the year i get 246ml out. Again has anybody solved this problem or am I the only one who rides it over 80mph?😄

I certainly haven't solved it, but...
The picture above looks a lot like my bike - fluid "seeping" from the mating faces of the engine/transmission area. I am pretty sure I have a leaky input shaft seal.
The picture you posted earlier looks nothing like my bike. Fluid running down from some high point (can't tell where), and just all over - puking as you say. Mine has never done anything like that.
For what it's worth, I run the snot out of my bike, routinely redlining it on acceleration, and I also run fast, but rarely sustained speeds over 75 mph because I mostly ride where the speed limit is 55 or less. Mine does seem to leak more when I run hard, but the amount of leakage seems similar to your second picture, or less. My guess would be, you have a very leaky input shaft seal, and I have a slightly leaky input shaft seal.
-
for what it's worth my V85 hit 4000 miles when this low oil from the factory thing came up. Sunday am I checked it after sitting 2 days and at room temp. when I loosened the fill plug there was a woosh! so obviously there is suction or pressure there if sealed properly and no sign of a leak. Thankfully. Can't say the same about the rear end.
-
So why would a leaky input shaft cause oil to come out of the breather? Makes no sense to me.

So is it leaking from the input shaft or breather? Both? Your posts make no sense.

It comes out of the breather like I stated originally. A bad input shaft wouldn't leak out of the breather IMHO
-
To me, especially the first picture looks like it is leaking out of the filler plug. Is there a missing O ring? I'm not seeing oil above the filler. I've certainly seen oil puking out of the old small block breather, and it looks nothing like this.. <shrug>

Language problem?
Neither breather nor input shaft, a picture tells a thousand words
-
It is indeed leaking out of the breather. If i took it earlier it would have made it that far down and of course the other side looks exactly the same on the pos with a worthless warranty as Guzzi says it is overfilled. Gotta love companies that don’t stand behind their stuff

Quite obvious?
Are there two Benebobs? One with breather question as title
I want to know what “directly out of input shaft ” means in English, to me that means onto clutch
Re breathier, route it high, into catch can not silly, is only vent, sfa oil wants to escape
-
Replace the mushroom breather with a barb bolt, put a hose on it, route it up and into a little catch can, see what you collect... Thats what you needed to do on the older smallblocks. Not a solution, but at least you can monitor how much you are losing
-

Yeah, <scratching head>
-
On my V7-II six speed if you only undid the drain plug not all the old fluid would come out.
I had to remove the filler plug as well to enable it to breath and drain properly.
You may be pouring the right amount in but still overfilling it.

Typo, corrected. Someone had input shaft on my mind. Again, the bike is under warranty (or at least what the useless people at Guzzi call a warranty so I am looking for a long term solution. Routing a catch can up on something that has issues is like putting head gasket sealeer in an engine to me. Gonna just kick the can down the road hence why I asked if anyone solved the problem not just half assed it.

Nope, you sound like you work for Guzzi. Deflect the issue onto the owner. :) LOL JK. Seriously, it has been drained 4 times over 9k different ways with similar results.

Under warranty but your dealer can't fix it?

When they don’t admit there is a problem there is nothing to fix🤣.
