Title: Guzzis in The Italian Job ('69)
Post by: GonzoB on July 03, 2020, 12:22:00 AM
I was watching the original Italian Job last night, and I noticed what I thought was an eagle on the tank of the bikes that the Polizia Stradale were riding.

Were they Guzzis? if so what model - I never got a good look at them.

Also, anyone notice that when the crew were working on one of the Minis, they said they were "fixing the diff", but they were under ... the back of the car?

1 500 Flacone/GTV think its bit early for the nuvo falcone (could be wrong) but it may be simply the standard police bikes of the era or more accurately the old surplus police bikes the movie could pick up for peanuts at the time.

2 Either that's a bit of an inside joke by the producers or more likely its a movie not a documentary and facts are not allowed to get in the way of a story.

This is a pretty good resource if you are interested in vehicles in movies http://www.imcdb.org/
