Title: 1400 Touring Windshield
Post by: Kevin M on July 10, 2020, 09:49:38 PM
Has anyone had any issues with your stock 1400 windshield becoming hazy? Is there a solution other than a new windshield?

Thanks

Tough one.  Sand/polish it out.  In the end you might have to get another one.  It does look like a lot of the guys don't like the stock one, maybe if you place an ad in the Swap Meet.  Experiment with your old one.  Check this out.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEJbKLZ7RmM

There are quite a few ways to clear it up.  The first thing to try is toothpaste.  Clean your windshield immaculately.  Spray mist water on it and with a soft cloth loaded with toothpaste, work the paste in small circles.  Take your time and polish the plastic evenly.  Keep the surface wet using a spray bottle.

If you take a half hour to do it you might be surprised at the results.

Wax it with any good quality wax designed for clear coat paints. You can also use a wax buffer to remove the wax. If this technique is used be sure to use a new, clean pad and use light to moderate down pressure.
