Just finished putting my new Road 5 tires on the Norge. These replaced Angel GTs that I thought had a few trips left in them but the dreaded line of death appeared around the center of the rear. Should be an interesting comparison.

Are those the GT version of the Road 5's? I may try a set of those after wearing out my current Road 4 GT's.

I put the GT version on my Norge. I don't have many miles on them yet but I like the way they feel so far.

I run the trail version on my R1250GSA. All I can say is Fantastic in dry and wet. Confidence inspiring. However, the rear only lasted @ 6k miles.

What do you guys actually DO to your tyres ?

I only have a thousand miles with my road 4 gt on the Norge but I love them so far. Haven't ridden in the wet yet but I have good expectations that they are one of the best to have in the wet, so that's a good thing to have in my head.

Most of my riding is non aggressive And I seldom get over 7K on the rear and 10k on the front. Don’t know maybe the road material is different down under?

I associate short rear tire life to the following:
- Heavy bike
- Heavy rider
- Bumont cases (3)
- The crap that resides in them
- lastly... spirited riding

The Pilot Road's are excellent tires. I've had the 2's, the 3's and the 4's but the new one is probably awesome.

Yep. Plus:
- High horsepower
- Hot weather

No doubt...I've also had the 3's, and 3 sets of 4's on my Norge, and also put them on my Scura as well.
Curious to see if the 4's are still available when I need to drop a new pair in a few K miles or if I have to move up to the 5's.
They are absolutely fantastic in the rain...and very sticky on the dry twisties.

The Pilot Roads are the best rain tire I have ever used on my bikes. Period.
The only negative is that ever rear tire I ran need to be patched because all those rain grooves grab nails and screws very easily.

Surprised anyone is using the GT version; these are stiff side walled tyres recommended for very heavy bikes.
I ran PR4s on my CB1300, the GT wasn't recommended for the Honda and it's no lightweight.
Just put a PR5 on the front of the Honda, the PR4 started getting some weird wear characteristics, trailing edges of the sipes wearing a lot quicker than the fronts.
Contemplating going with the Power 5s on my Aprilia.
