Going the Wrong Way by Chris Donaldson, copyright 2020.
Story of a young man escaping the 1970s “Trouble” of Northern Ireland by taking his LeMans III on a solo unsupported, unplanned trip through Europe, the Middle East, East Africa, and the Americas........inc luding across the Sahara! His original destination was Australia but plans changed. Many trials and tribulations. Fair number of photos.
A pretty good read. I’m about half way through.

My favorite motorcycle travel book ever. It is amazing that he and the Lemans survived. I have emailed back and forth with the author a few times. Interesting guy. He still has the Lemans.

Just started reading this book, published in June.

About a third of the way through now. It's great fun to read. The author grew up in Belfast dodging rocks, bullets and bombs during the Troubles. In 1979, at age 20, he rebelled against the idea of joining his father's recently-bombed furniture business and struck out for a more peaceful life by riding his Le Mans to Australia. Of course he rode right into the Middle Eastern wars of the era, in Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan and onward. Hair-raising encounters all along the way.

Just finished it...I can’t imagine how exhausted and exhilarated the author must have felt by the end! Good read!!

I just finished reading the book. Amazing story! I cannot find the words to describe his journey other than much of it was not easy.
Strongly recommended.
