Greetings!
I have a custom built scrambler from a 2002 Nevada.
Is it possible to replace the stock 5 speed gearbox with a 6 speed one out of a V7iii?
If it is is it a straight forward swap or will it require lots of fiddling around to make it work.
Also is it possible to swap the entire engine and gearbox from a V7 to a nevada 750?
If you need any more information about the bike let me know.
Also if something like this is possible but not swaping parts from a V7 also please share.
Thanks,
Sven

Welcome! I’m a nevada owner, but as far as i can tell there are maybe 4-5 here. I’m using it as a step down bike. Not too much modifications going on.
You might find more info on the smallblock/v7 forum. Don’t know the link, sorry. Someone will be along.

The injected Nevada has the same engine, gearbox and running gear as the 750 Breva and the 2TB V7's, parts are interchangeable. There were some carbureted Nevadas. The fuel handling and breather plumbing on those seem to be same as the V65. The earlier 1TB V7's are also basically the same. I haven't yet come across anyone who has tried to retro-fit the six speed gearbox. Try it, and let us know. The 1TB Stone engine has been fitted to a V65 in the past. As well as the six speed box, the V7 II's engine is slightly titled. Don't know how much difference that makes to the engine mounts. Still leaves you with lots of alternative sources.

I agree w Malik. My 2 cents is that the 6 speed won't fit, and ... the engine has such a good torque range that six speeds aren't needed.
I think the factory added a sixth speed just for marketing.

Small block interchangeability is really good. I'm running a V7 transmission behind the Aero engine in the Lario. That said, *I don't know,* but doubt the 6 speed will fit without major modification.

Alright. Thanks for the info.

Nice job. It looks like another carbureted Nevada. If you get a later engine, there's some sensor holes which will need blanking. Noted in the V65 with Stone engine thread of a few years back. I've an idea that the front mudguard could be raised a tad using spacers & longer bolts. Perhaps. Access is awkward there, but that's nothing new with the smallblocks.
