More bids than comments, this will be an interesting Auction.

A lot to like here.  A bit rough around the edges, but very complete.  SN is 1000 after mine.  No mention of Gilardoni barrels, the electric fuel tap is missing, and no shots of under the seat.  Bids already to 8K.

With any of these online auctions....you should NOT bid until the last 60 seconds...        Otherwise, you just drive the price higher and higher...

Some auction sites (like ***Broker.com) have fixed it so there's no more sniping.   Every bid extends the auction another 15 minutes.   You can still put in your maximum and the system will "bid for you", but every time someone puts one in, they add 15 minutes to the clock.

Don't know if BaT is like that or not, but it seems to be a good idea, especially for the (in this case, ECSTATIC) seller ... !!

It will be interesting to see where it ends up, the repainted tank and took boxes do a good job of drawing attention away from the general worn condition of the rest of the bike.

I don't care for the red frame and non stock colour for the year, that detracts from the value in my opinion. A lot of rust on the fasteners, axles etc... it is so easy to clean up fasteners for a sale I just don't understand why a seller doesn't put in the effort to clean a bike up.

The Koni shock bodies have been painted red, even managed to get red paint on the shock bushings.
The 'P' brackets that support the headers to the front of the frame are missing. repro exhaust? No electronic petcock but it does have the correct small starter motor.

I thought the 73 still had the left hand brake pedal and cable set up, perhaps this one with the right hand cross over brake is a late 73?
The zip ties around the frame are red or they have been painted red with the frame?

Would be interested in seeing picture of the battery, under seat light and fuse box area to see if the stock grey fuse box is intact.
There are no close up pictures of the Borrani rim stampings to ensure they are 'Record Cross' and not just 'Record' rims.

Hopefully the cylinders / pistons have been replaced and the main and shell bearings are not worn. No mention if the transmission or final drive have been overhauled. State of the brakes, wheel bearings, front suspension ………

It might be a great bike but then again it could eat up $5 ~ $7K in a heartbeat.

Its a nice looking runner, with no detailed history of mechanical work I will guess it reaches $11K.

This one is on Ebay right now for an opening bid of $19K, not cheap but looks nice other than the home made front signal light brackets

BOT resets at 2 min to prevent sniping.

Agree with all comments.  Regarding the Borrani, the front is correct.

I haven't found a shot of the rear rim with the Cross markings.

What other bikes (beside similar early Tonti Guzzis) used these specific Borrani Record Cross rims?  Both cross section and shoulder width are very different on these V7 Sport than other Record Cross rims.

What is the difference between Borrani  Record wheels and Borrani Record Cross wheels?

The Record Cross rims have a slightly taller flange, and the cross section of the rim is thicker, Cross rims are stronger than the regular Borrani Record rims.

Sold for $14,250. Not bad for a v7.

I would agree, not bad for that particular V7 Sport.  It is a great starting point for what could be a very nice bike without a lot of parts hunting.  I agree with Jim, Canuck750, another 5 to 7K invested  and it will be a nice one.
