Title: Fake holes V7III TB covers
Post by: Rich A on August 12, 2020, 06:39:49 PM
I always thought the TB covers on the V7IIIs looked a little cheesy. What's with the fake holes? Why do I say they're fake? If you look at the aluminum TB covers on some of the newer bikes (e.g. Shine), they have "real" holes where the plastic ones only have depressions.

I thought maybe I'd just get a set of the aluminum covers, but they're around $150! At that price, I'll pass.

So with a drill, a dremel tool, and a can of spray paint, I came up with these. (I also wanted to break up the monotone black, so I painted the covers a dark metallic gray--and I like the way the line from the TBs continues to the exhaust)

The bike actually looks pretty good without any TB covers at all.

And yes, I have too much spare time these days.

I've been thinking the same thing. Never dawned on me to make the holes functional and do a contrasting color.

Those look great. I may just do that myself.
