Well, thankfully the 1200 Sport has found a good home with Steve. So, I'm down to two bikes, the old R100GS that currently needs some work, and the 2016 Bonneville T120. To date, I've logged almost 4000 miles on the Britbike twin, and am enjoying it a lot. I've done a few things to make it work better for me, namely:
- Replaced OEM rear shocks with a set of Ikons with lighter springs. These actually came off of my now gone CB1100, and work very well on the Triumph.
- Replaced 37 tooth OEM rear sprocket with aftermarket 40 tooth. The bike still has very long legs even with the lower gearing, but is much 'snappier' around town. 6th gear at 70mph shows 3500rpm, right in the middle of this bike's torque band. Stock exhaust is quiet when cruising, but has a nice bark when given a handful of throttle at 3000rpm in 3rd.
- Installed a 20mm aftermarket spacer between top triple clamp and the stock risers. Purpose wasn't just to raise the bars, but to lift them high enough so I could rotate them more toward me (without hitting the tank,) thereby pulling them closer. 30" sleeve length doesn't give me much reach, so I do what I have to do.
- Installed Givi bag mounts, permitting me to use a 10 year old, practically new, set of Givi E21 bags.
- Will be installing a set of Progressive Suspension (lighter weight) fork springs within the next few weeks. They're in route at the moment
All in all, I'm pleased with the T120. Bought used at a reasonable price. Very low mileage bike at purchase (1600 miles.)
One rides this bike on the torque curve. Just no need to wind past 4500-5000rpm, and this provides a nice sporty ride.

Nice👍🏻 The right color IMO. The t120 is an easy m/c to ride. My '18 has seen western states & 1/2 of Canada. Loved it's
Ease & the full view of the horizon ahead. Selling now to changing rides but not an easy decision.

You've done some serious touring on your T120. Health permitting (and with a reduction in - 19) I'd like to take my T120 on a ride out West. Probably duplicate the route my good riding buddy, Tom, and I took in 2006, on our 790cc Bonnies. Here we were, just west of Cody, WY in the parking lot of the Yellowstone Park Inn. These small (by today's standards) bikes performed flawlessly out and back.
