Here are some (phone) pics from the Baxter open house Sunday bike show. Not Guzzis, but if you are a petrol head you can appreciate. A good weekend camping and demo rides, the factory Royal Enfield demo truck was on hand and Baxter supplied the Triumphs to ride. The Saturday auction brought some jaw dropping prices from overseas bidders. It was a little warm but it was nice to get out on the bike for the weekend. The guys at Baxter Cycle did a great job and were amazing hosts. See you all at MoKan in a month.
I did include a foody pic of Iowa Nachos, pulled pork, bacon, beens, olives, onion, sour cream, 4 cheese. YUM.

Good photos!! Thanks for sharing! :thumb:
I often look at the all the fine vintage British bikes FOR SALE on their website, and hallucinate about taking $10K-$15K from my 401K and just motoring over to Marne, Iowa and picking one up...(*SIGH*) :thumb:
(The key word, of course, is "hallucinate")

Haha, yeah, planning on a Triumph Trident T150 one day. But, not a trailer queen show bike, a local daily rider unrestored.

Snowman here is my daily rider 69 T-150 I bought in 1986. Fun to ride, and cannonball reliable. I have the orig. beauty kit body work in the loft in the shop.

Randy B a great Brit bike vendor and solid dude. Thanks for the pixs

I bid on the T3. But a 15% buyers premium plus shipping kept me from going high enough to buy it.
Prices for most stuff were fair. It appeared that 3 or 4 guys were buying a lot of the bikes. All were
internet bidders so maybe some of it was going overseas.

Thanks for the pictures. I didn't make it over this year, that Duratio storm that came through last Monday hit us hard. Still have a tree on my roof, and just got power back yesterday. Next year.

Sorry to hear that. I rode down Hwy71 and was shocked at the devastation in the corn fields. All of it flattened by the storm.

Great T150, motivates me even more. Agreed on your Randy comments, solid guy.

I was there for the auction but had other obligations that wouldn't allow me to stay. Judging from the pictures, it looks like I missed out on seeing a lot of the more interesting bikes. Maybe next year I'll make a weekend out of the event and ride down and camp.

I like this Triumph Trident on their website... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

My best buddy in high school had a 1973 version exactly like this one. It was a very cool bike to own at age 18!! :thumb:

Jeez and I sold my 1974 gold Trident in 1977 for $900.00 and bought my T3. Maybe that Baxter bike is it. I lived in Mpls area at the time.
Rode it 25,000 miles, but it was buzzy at the speeds I liked to ride. Pretty bike though. And sounded great.
