Title: Down to two Windshields
Post by: Jose Mendez on August 24, 2020, 11:15:24 AM
Hello Everyone,

Now don't beat me over the head with a big stick... :thewife: but I would like advice on these two windshields. I had an accident and ruined my beloved barn door shield on my 2003 EV 1100 California .  I had uncountable of miles on that shield. Sad to see it in pieces.

The National Cycle Plexifairing 3 Windshield seems to be the preferred shield from past discussions and that National Cycle stopped producing them for Guzzis, I am wondering if anyone has tried fitting the N8963-01 by National Cycle Plexifairing 3 on a EV 1100 California?

The second shield is the National Cycle N8332-01 Plexistar 2 which is listed to fit on the California EV 2001-2003. It has buffing problems and adjustments over the headlight is necessary to reduce the buffing.

Thanks.

If there are any other shields that have turned up since the past discussions, please let me know.

I do plan to drill the 3 1/2 in holes and add the vents or clip on a spoiler to the shield if needed.

Jose, the plexi3 that fits a early model Honda shadow fits your EV👍
I know this because that’s what I did with my 04 EV.

Jose, I have a National Cycle Guzzi Screen that I took off of my Special Sport with the same mounting points as the EV, I believe.  One small blemish from when a drunk local decided to knock over all of the bikes in a hotel parking lot in NM.   The blemish might polish out but the beatdown the 1%ers gave him sure wouldn't have   PM me if interested.

Hey Jose,
Long tine no see, like 2005-ish...!   Wow.

Is this the Barn Door screen...?  I just took this one off my Son's Sport and installed an Aerofoil.  The screen is a cloudy however, I believe that is will polish out nicely, there is a large scar in a nice even radius just above the gauge area and I was going to paint the thing black from that point down if it stayed in service.

Yours for shipping if you like, I can take more photos as well...

Best,
Rob
