Title: Oct. 17th Prescott Ride
Post by: JJ on September 02, 2020, 03:06:14 PM
125 miles round trip...lots of cool vintage bikes...and a few cool Guzzi's also!

Traffic / parking was challenging, but then again, it is the weekend in Prescott.   Lunch at ROSA's (superb Italian) was outstanding! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

But it was also still HOT today, (90 degrees), but the ol' Yellow Horse ran great and I average 45 MPG! :thumb:

It should be nice and cool by then, and some of us are talking about motoring on over to Prescott / Whiskey Row and hooking up with some of the Phoenix riders around 12 noon and having lunch somewhere around on the square.

A few more photos of the historic Yavapai County Courthouse in the square, Prescott, AZ.  This used to be the territorial capital of AZ in the 19th century.

I'll call or text you when I arrive.  If I get there early I may visit the Guzzi dealer.

Is there a restaurant on Whiskey Row with a patio?

OK - Not sure about a place with a patio, but we'll find some place....

I'd like to visit the Guzzi dealer afterwards also...

JJ,

Every time you mention a ride to the Prescott area, it brings back recent memories of my four-wheel travels to the area, with my now departed best friend, Ginny.  She moved to San Tan Valley in early 2007 (we drove out together) and from that time until 2017, we both spent many happy times in the hills north of Phoenix. I have a bunch of pics of us in the Superstition Mountains (Tortilla Flat, Canyon Lake) and onward to Prescott, Jerome, Cottonwood.  Such beautiful country!  I have so many good memories of spending time in Arizona

Typically, The Hassayampa Hotel in Prescott was our starting point.  From there, we ended up as far away as Utah a few times, by way of several National Parks.  Of course, that always included stopping off and enjoying lunch at an outside bar looking down on the main street running thru Jerome.

You're truly blessed living in that part of the country.

Bob

Looks like a great day JJ.  Sorry I missed it, I would have enjoyed meeting the local riders.  We left AZ in June and started moving the toyhauler to follow the weather (Utah, Idaho).  I really liked the Guzzi shop in Prescott.
