Doing 40 on my trail 90 when the rear tire blew out.. I had it under control for about a second, thought I could slow her down but no, she threw me.. landed on hip and elbow. Coulda been worse since I had no helmet or other gear on. first guy to come along went home for a trailer and got me back to Moms house on the lake.

Scared up the road but only the mirror and left brake lever broke, foot peg pivots so just rubber rash. Tough little bike.

Wow, that could have been much worse. I'm so glad that was your only damage.
-
Whoa! No helmet - on PAVEment?
Don't do THAT again! :thewife:

Yikes. I guess I better get in the case, my ct 90 tires are AT LEAST 25 years old and still holding air! I think I better learn from your misadventure. Glad you’re ok

Ouch .

It's actually my cousins bike, I keep mine at home in the city and that one up at the lake. Mostly I ride in woods but the roads are empty rural roadways, I was going into Scandia for some stingeze, it's bee season coming up soon and wanted to be ready. So yeah my bad,, my city bike has newer tires and tubes but guilty for not changing out the older tires on that bike. And true I was an ATGATT guy but have relaxed some on the little CT 90's.. I'll re think that too.

Glad it wasn't worse foto  :thumb:

Glad you're OK. It's easy to assume little bike, little possibility of personal damage, but.....
-
To add to the above, glad you are ok.
The only time I wasn't ATGATT on my brother's bike and did a tank slapper I still have the gravel in my palm because I didn't have gloves on. (hot day) Still had my helmet on though!
-
Sounds like you were lucky to avoid any fractures!
But wear a helmet next time?
-
Glad you're OK. It doesn't take much sometimes.
-
Sorry to hear this Brad, glad you're okay.
-
Hmmm, some things are better when untold.....
-
Glad you're Okay. I'll second the request to put on a lid.

These thing are always better, when you can talk about them.
Glad you are OK.
-
glad you're OK but I am a little disappointed with you: ATGATT

Add to the glad you are basically okay crowd. Bet you will be hurting for a few days however. Good reminder for all of us that shit happens, do what you can to be prepared for those moments.

Good luck when you wake up tomorrow... report back with the "what hurts report"
Tubed rear tire flats are scary. Only had one and it was with my father on back..... a miracle it stayed up!
-
OUCH, glad to hear you are (mostly) OK, thank goodness it wasn't worse.
I witnessed a real ugly crash on a group ride this summer, guy in front of me hit a gravel patch on a paved backroad at 50 mph on a new V7 Guzzi, flipped him over high side from left to right before it threw him down the road, he had a helmet and coat on but lots of injuries, broken ribs, cracked vertebrae, lacerated liver, puncture lung, concussion, he is slowly healing.
-
Yikes, tough bike, and tough rider! Good reminder to everyone, and you too, obviously, that pavement is unforgiving. I ride less and less without at least the jacket and gloves, and really don't feel comfortable without anymore. I DO need to find another pair of riding pants, or perhaps look into the type meant to wear either under, or over regular pants.
Glad you are ok, and the bike too!
-
Glad to hear you're ok. That's all that matters. No need to wag a finger.
Hope it all feels ok over the next few days.....
-
Hmmm, some things are better when untold.....
it is kind of embarrassing to tell you guys but I did it so you'd all think about these dangers.
I had an ax when I was 57, had all the gear all on and still busted two ribs.. and a wrist bone I didn't know I broke until 2 years ago when x-ray'd for some other injury. So mostly I always suited up.. when we first got these bikes 48 years ago I went everywhere up there and had never heard of gear. The good ol days.

Road rash is minor only if it happens to somebody else .Thanks for postingand get well soon.
-
Glad you’re okay man! I’m not gonna cast any stones, I’ve been known to cruise around Sturgis and San Antonio at slow speeds with no lid. And back in my drinking days I literally had a “hold my beer” moment when I jumped a table top on a Suzuki 125 and waaaay overshot the landing. I had on a baseball cap. Smh at some of the things I’ve done in the past. Anyway, heal up and be safe dude.

Glad to hear your ok, sad to hear you went down. Considering your recent past it’s time to put down the 1 Iron. Heal fast.

That’s enough bad luck for awhile, Brad. I’m glad you’re ok!
