I can't figure Windows 10 out!!

I've gone from Win 8 to 10 and it's posting images isn't any different for me.

I don't get it. <scratching head> I have 3 computers.. one on win7, one win 10, and one running Linux. They are essentially the same. (?)

The problem is that now when I open pictures all that comes up is file folders. Then I have to open each folder to see what pictures are in it. There must be 50 folders. Used to be, when I opened pictures, the actual pictures would show up.

If all else fails, read the instructions. Just an idea.
With some things you can go to control panel to make the program work how you want it to, or options in your browser for same.

File explorer has not changed in a LONG time. It is not a Win 10 thing. It sounds like you may just need to change the 'view' settings for your folder.
That being said, posting a picture has not changed. Click on the 'add image to post' and it should be the same as it used to be. You may need to click on the 'more options' to view the files as icons instead of say file details.

I'm not sure what is going on with what the OP is experiencing.
One thing I remember switching to Win 10 was that many of the applications, specifically for media, like photo and media player were not included in Win 10. MS later included these apps but the first versions deleted them or didn't carry them over. I had to download several apps just to do some basic functions. In fact I purchased a new Win 10 Dell laptop and sent it back because it had nothing on it.
I'm not sure why MS did that, perhaps they wanted to charge users to purchase them?

I assume that they were trying to get more people to use the store apps. Some free, some pay.
I have access to more and better free apps from the store now then ever before, so it is better IMHO.
Like it or hate it, iPhones and Androids have proven that having apps in a store like that is what people want.
Oddly, for me, Win 8, 8.1 and 10 all had pre-installed media players that worked fine. Though I recall that I did need to dig up the old media player to play some old format movie once.

I don't have a Windows machine but I had to switch mine to 'thumbnail' view from 'list' view and that did it. Little icon on the top of the screen.

I think I figured it out.

I had to open each file and move each picture in that file to "pictures" Took some time. Then I just deleted each empty file folder. I don't remember how those pictures got put into file folders.

I've got a couple of hard drives taken out of broken laptops. I couldn't read the files on those hard drives from File Manager. I had to go to an application such as Open Office, Photo Editor or Music Player and pull up the external hard drive to actively use those files. Once I started the process, all the files on those hard drivers were indexed and functioned normally after that and work with File Manager.
It seems like you might be experiencing something like that.
