Quota seems to be working well. So now I can turn my attention to less pressing issues with it. A PO dumped it on the left side. That doesn’t bother me. What messes with my ocd though is the left riser is bent somewhat, and the handlebars are slightly askew. Already go new handlebars on the way. Anything I need to know about replacing risers or is it pretty straightforward?
Cheers to all, Robert

Oh and just ignore the atrocious tank. Cosmetic upgrades are planned for this winter.

are the risers bent?

are the risers bent?
Yes. The left one is. I’ve had that happen before on my Vulcan I had. Just off enough to bother me. I tried to show the different reveal in the pics.

There is a nut under the upper triple clamp that secures the riser. The riser stud maybe bent, the stud passes through a rubber bushing, the riser also might well be bent but sometimes just loosening the nuts and then the handlebar clamps and moving the bars around a bit will allow things to settle in their proper places then tighten and ride on.

I have one riser you can have

Hauto, you are awesome my dude! I’ll send you a pm if I need it.
Brian, you jogged my memory. On my Kawasaki Vulcan I was certain I had bent the riser. Ordered new risers. When I took off the old risers, it was the bolt that had bent. The riser was okay.
So for my Quota the next step will be to check out the bolt first as you said. Thanks again for mentioning that. If you hadn’t I wouldn’t have remembered! Then I’ll proceed depending on what I find.

Okay, may be a stupid question, but how do you remove the bolt from the riser? Just put it in a vise and beat it with a large hammer? Or is there a more refined way?

Okay, for the posterity of future searches. The bolt has a sleeve on it. If needed, use vise grips and a large adjustable wrench to turn the sleeve and work it loose. Once it’s loose it comes off the bolt and the bolt is easy to remove.
On my Quota, the riser bolts ARE bent. Risers are okay. I got one sleeve off but the other is being difficult. It’s currently taking a “pause that refreshes” in the hopes of getting it loose enough to come off. Not too much pressure with the vise grips or you’ll oblong the sleeve. If soaking the riser doesn’t work I’ll pay a visit to fastenal. 😉

:thumb: Cool. Bolts are much easier to obtain.
