Title: G5 Handlebar suggestions
Post by: Scout63 on October 07, 2020, 09:15:27 PM
I’m pretty close to beginning reassembly of my 79 G5. It has re-laced spoke wheels, replacement stock style LaFranconi exhaust, rebuilt engine and gearbox. I’m going to set it up as a solo seat cruiser, but want to be able to convert to more of a standard later.  I have footpeg G5 and floorboard lower rails.  Any suggestion on handlebars that would transition from cruiser to comfortable standard?  Maybe a mild superbike bar with risers?  Beach bars? I’d like to be able to swap seats, tanks and lower rails without rewiring bars. Pictures are always appreciated. Thanks.

Might need to post of pic to see what the current look is, but if you are considering beach bars, have you considered the stock '81 style police bars? I think they are very comfortable and work well with the floor boards, not sure about the pegs, but I think they would also by rotating the bars up more maybe.

Anyway, I'll take this opportunity to post of photo of my bike   (these are the stock police bars that came on mine)
