Morning All
I've got me a used 2107 V9 Roamer 10k miles which is great apart from the snatchy throttle last serviced by a main dealer in May circa 2k miles ago
Throttle slack is negligible, so I'm wondering about plugs, tappets and TPS position
So I'm going back to the start,
a) Plug caps seem very tight and I know the 4 valve CARC bikes were sensitive as to how they were removed. Any pointers?
b) How do you set the tappets on one of these. Anything strange to be concerned about?
c) Does anyone know the gaps off the top of their heads
d) Will Guzzidiag rest the TPS position
Cheers

PS
Just found this for the V7 iii - does the process apply the the V9 but with the V9 gaps?

Thanks John Henry
It appears the gaps are In 4 thou / Out 6 thou
Just need to work out how to get the rear wheel off the ground without a centre stand. :thumb: :thumb:

You could lean the bike over to the left on the sidestand, with a prop on the right side to hold it there - I have a lift designed for this purpose - the IB Emergency Bike Lift.
Or, you could use a lift under the crankcase & tie the front end down - feels a lot more stable.
Or, a few lengths of 2x4, with a bar across - check out the grisoghetto for photos & instructions on this.
If you've a suspension shop nearby, check with them - they usually have a range of quick and dirty tools & methods - they have to get all sorts of bikes' wheels into the air with a minimum of fuss.
Needs must. You'll manage.

After going through doing the first service on my V9 Bobber I was totally all in for adding a center stand. I installed the Hepco Becker kit for the V9 bikes. Well worth the money and time. It makes doing the valves and anything that requires removal of the wheels so much easier and safer. You might want to look into it.
