Title: Phase 1 of the Stone tune done
Post by: Ncdan on October 08, 2020, 08:19:14 AM
With the help of one of the guys here, we hooked the Stone up to Guzzidiag to get the reading. The 02 sensor was -12 so we brought it back to 0.  After a 300 mile yesterday it seems to not have made much of a noticeable difference one way or another. I got 51 mpg on one tank of fuel and 53 on the other, the bike ran great. I did get a couple hiccups over the 300 miles, at low speeds in town and the weather was quite warm.
When I get home the next phase will be done, balancing the throttle bodies and check the TPS. The Twinmax meter came in and I look foreword to learning how to use it.

The Twin Max is a good tool if you learn the right way to use it.. the sensitivity dial is the key.. you don't just hook up and read it.

Glad you got it back to 0.  If you want to see what it looks like in the real, get bike warmed up from a ride then put in new gapped plugs & let idle for 2+ min.. Pull plugs and inspect. It will be on cold start mode at initial start but that goes away, that's why let it idle 2+ min. Don't give it any throttle at start just the button.

Thanks Steve, I’ll get back with you when I get back off my trip at the Outer Banks👍

Sounds good, Dan.  Glad it's moving in the right direction.

Just got back to the room from a 150 mole excursion on the OBX. I think I do have a minor glitch as at low RPM I’m getting “ coughs” right frequently. I’m not sure if I got an issue that balancing the TB a d resetting the TPS is going to fix?
Bike still runs great at normal operating RPM and speeds snd the last tank in got 53mpg again.

With 50+mpg is it running too lean thereby causing the occasional hiccup?

Sorry Moto, I need to start proof trading my texts. I meant to say 150 mile ride(excursion) on #12(highway) on the NC outer banks.
