A good friend of mine is selling his 71 Ambassador in Dekalb IL.

Geez, NOS chrome bores doesn't make sense to me, but what do I know?  Apparently not enough...

A friend of mine bought a pair of NOS chrome bore cylinders at VMD/Mid-Ohio years ago. Defunct dealer was selling off old inventory. Installed them in his Eldo along with matching NOS pistons. A few thousand miles later the oil began to sparkle...

It seemed to me that to go through that effort of installing new chrome cylinders would be penny wise (perhaps) and pound foolish.  Didn't make sense to me...or to you either Charlie, I'm thinking...

I think you know enough!   The chrome bores don't degrade with miles, they degrade with time, and 40 year old ones that have been sitting on the shelf will be in the same shape as 40 year old ones sitting on the bike.

Pretty bike, but better figure new cylinders and pistons into the offer price.   Might still be close to the asking price, for all I know ....
