Where do you carry your lunch?
Well guys like me can afford to miss lunch for a year.
I just hope whatever Guzzi does I can fold up on it.

Is...that a chain???

Is...that a chain???
I think it's the side stand.

Is...that a chain???
Well if it is it badly needs adjusting.
Ciao

A little more bulk in the tail section..
And a little larger in the fairing.. But very very nice and would sell tremendously well
Now way back when I floated the “soft edged sports bike concept” that landed between the V7 and the V9 to be called the V8, why was I so roundly criticised ?
-
I like it..... trouble is, it looks way too cramped for my arthritic frame.
-
this would work for me! Sporty, but only gonna have about 80hp, so maybe I wouldnt kill myself
-
Thats a nice looking bike! :thumb: :thumb:
Rick.

In red, with the tail section behind the seat slightly more pronounced and 50 mm on the screen..
A hint of red/green like the MV Agusta F3’s and they would not be able to fulfil the orders..
Can someone photoshop to that effect ?

For that to be a chain..
The bike would have a rear sprocket 5” diameter. That is indeed the side stand and it doesn’t line up with the extension of the line through the rear wheel..
That’s one of the spokes.

All they need to do is add some horsepower and torque. Otherwise, it's a pretty picture.

True. I took the bikes out one by one today, filling them up with non alcohol fuel for the winter layover. The AeroLario was entertaining to operate.. but I took the Mighty Scura out next. Yeah, Baby! That's what I'm talking about! A little more go be good.. The G5 was pleasant. Sweet runner. Smooth. Didn't get the adrenaline going, though. Of course, everybody is different. That's why they make all kinds.
Just the same.. something that "looks" like the Black Eagle just ought to be able to do what the Mighty Scura does..

But Chuck, the Scura cannot do what the Aprilia Tuono does and the Tuono cannot do what the Suzuki B King does...etc.
Furthermore..
If your Scura was 850 cc’s, it wouldn’t pull the skin off a rice custard.
I’d be interested to see the math on kW/ litre for both bikes. Suffice to say that if the V85 motor was a 1200, then umm..
Things would be a little different.
I don’t think the outright performance potential of a sports bike is the be all and end all that it was not so long ago.
I owned an MV Agusta F4 for some time and I can absolutely guarantee anyone, that my mate Geoff could leave me behind on my V85.
I reckon a Guzzi sports bike buyer will take the Black Eagle due solely to it’s looks and it’s not exactly a slug. You miss the rpm figure by too much on the MV coming out of an increasing radius hairpin bend, and the V85 WILL pull some distance on you.

You see Huzo...I told you Mighty was appropriately used in reference to Scura, not Griso! Proof not once, but twice! :)

Its missing water cooling, bigger fairing and bigger tail, no no no you will not turn it into a V11 lemans which at best was an awkward looking bike.

Well mate..
The jury may well be retired as to how appropriate the term is, but it certainly has as you say, been uttered..

DOA.
Would sell like shit cakes. Easy to build a beautiful bike around that engine. This being said, folks are just kidding themselves if they think this is a marketable bike by any means for Guzzi. You might want it in your garage (it sure would look good there in mine), you might drop your coin for it (I’d give it some thought). But almost nobody anywhere else would nor probably should they. It would be the biggest sheep in fox clothing and guys who are into bikes like this would know that from the get go. Please Guzzi, DON’T do anything like this. It would just be wasted dollars.

BP:
I forget who said "wanting and having are often two very different things". Look at the Guzzi demographic and tell me how many could ride a bike like that for more than 10 minutes? If it is expensive as it looks, will young riders take a chance on it from a boutique brand? When I was young, I really wanted a Le Mans (or R100RS - $7,200, really impossible). But I had enough money to buy a Japanese 650 4 cylinder, but not the more than double the cost Le Mans. I had to be in my 40s with kids gone before I was able to buy my first used BMW (the RS I wanted so many years earlier) It still wasn't cheap even used (a nice one is still not cheap). IMO, I would like to see a nice sporty standard built around that engine similar to the v9 but without such controversial styling that could sell for the same or less than the current v85. I would hope that it would be something that the current v7 owner could consider a step up and younger riders who want a little more urgency than the v7 offers would consider buying. And, when I can no longer mount the v85, I could consider as a replacement.

Dead on! No sport bike riders want an aircooled v-twin with 80hp
The old guzzi farts among us will complain the bars are too low, no barndoor windshields will fit, and no mounts to hold 40 year old fiberglass touring luggage
Looks great to me, but sales? I think not
