Pretty bike, for sale not far from me, a bit pricey maybe (?), lots of pics, 55 year old machine, nice to see it has survived. People here like to see stray dogs and cats, so here is one for you to look at:

I remember seeing these bikes at Sears. A good friend rode a 'hand me down' Allstate scooter, that I'm certain was a rebadged Vespa. Not to be left behind, Montgomery Wards sold rebadged scooters. I think they may have been made by Lambretta.

The guys on the Sears Allstate Facebook group were trying to figure out how he made it a "300". Even with the largest oversized pistons available, the displacement isn't even close to that.

My friend Joseph rode his to the Virginia Guzzi Rally in Buena Vista, VA a few years ago.

I'm curious, how do you add a 3/4 cam on a two stroke engine? The 250 puke was a two stroker with two cylinders that fired a few degrees apart from one spark plug. We called it a twinge engine. Good torque but low horsepower.

You don't.
Around here, it's standard old shade tree hot rod chatter to claim to bore an engine out to a ridiculously next bigger displacement. In reality, the .030 or .060 over only adds nominal displacement-especially on a smaller engine. The same people are usually the ones who swap in a 3/4 cam or put in a new powerband, if not both.
Such things are usually a good clue to not let them touch your engine or put much value in their claims about how they built their engine.....

If I remember correctly this engine is a two cylinder called a "Twingle"........It was really different in how it was built. It wasn't a performance engine but, was reliable. The Kid

Yes, the Twingle. I have a '67 SR250 that I built from parts given to me by my friend Joseph. It isn't pretty, but it runs very well. I have a total of $500 in it.

He left later than he should have, rode the Skyline Drive and BRP, expected to find gas on the BRP (and didn't of course). Ran out of gas, a chase vehicle for a bicyclist training on the BRP had a jug with gas. He finally arrived around 10:30. Then the whole "sandwich debacle" started - Cam3512 knows the story. :grin:
