I know not a Guzzi ,but in the past I have never owned an original Bonneville but had friends who had 77's which I enjoyed riding on back roads. How do the new Royal Enfield twins compare? Handling, the way the motor makes power? Are they similar yet different? Just curious. I know they don't really vibrate and the firing order is different but they seem closer to a vintage Triumph the the new new Bonneville's. Just some rambling thoughts on a cold wet day her in CT.

Friends who have them say the new Enfield twins handle much better than even the new Bonnevilles, although they don't have the same power (nor the weight).

However, these 650 INT Royal Enfiled's are pretty enticing also, for the money!! :thumb: :wink: :smiley: :cool:

They need..
A deeper looking seat..(looks like an ironing board..)
Also twin front discs....(whether it requires them or not..)
Abbreviated mufflers ..(shorter and less splayed..)
Love the colours.
Really like the bikes overall. They look good on the road, I hope they really take off properly, they seem to be a popular choice for many. There are enough Triumphs already, although I can see why riders go that way.

I was about an inch away from buying a new INT650. Fortunately, it wasn't long after checking out the RE that I discovered the vastly superior V7III, and at a price very comparable!

I think that’s a really interesting question, because the RE seems like a closer and more authentic match to an original Bonneville than is currently sold by Triumph.
In other words, if you liked the ‘77 Bonneville, would you resonate with the RE twin? I’d be interested in the answer of those who have ridden both. Late model Triumphs do little for me.

That is what I was asking. I have read, and watched all the youtube's comparisons of Modern retros but you never see very many side by sides with the originals that they are based on.
