Title: This is November?
Post by: Lefty on November 08, 2020, 02:10:10 PM
It’s 80 degrees as I sit here on my back porch in Dayton,OH after a long ride this morning. Many riders on the road enjoying a late season ride. I dare say this is as nice an Indian Summer day as I’ve ever seen. I’m thankful for such a great day to ride in November. :bike-037:

I'm not complaining either. South central PA.  Went out for a ride this morning now sitting in the garage in shorts watching a movie, drinking beer and cooking dinner on the BGE.

85-90 miles thru Amish Country north of Middlefield, Ohio.  T120 running beautifully.  Nice road, not too many buggies out this afternoon.  Beautiful blue skies, cows lying side by side in the sun, horses standing by their fences, and still several trees with golden leaves.  The next few days will provide sweet memories as we head into NE Ohio winter weather.

Yepper!!!

20C and sunny here in eastern Ontario.  Racked up 400km on the T120 today and was feeling good about my 10,000km season...until I met another gent who had posted 41,000km this season on his Street Twin.  I was humbled.

But I had a great day, rode a new-to-me road (thx to the gent on the ST).

I've got a chicken in the oven and cold beer within reach/

Today, Life is Good.

Cheers!

G

Last couple of days have topped out in the 70s however this is KS so it comes with 30-40+ winds which take some of the fun out of riding.

The only way it would have been better here would have been to be riding.

Approx 70f, very comfortable humidity for some yard work, a radiator job in my daughter's truck and some work on my old lathe r&r.   The color has been that perfect money-shot golden light..  leaves, sky, and everything else. Gorgeous weather.

It won't be long before its cold, wet and generally 34f crappy...  Still, that still beats frozen solid and wicked cold for months on end.

1,632 miles in four days.  Frost on two mornings.  Blue skies with temps in the upper 60's and low 70's.

Nice, leisurely roads.
In November.

It's STILL nice here, Monday, and forecasted to 77 degrees - with a 74 degree high on Tuesday.
Wednesday drops to 55 for the high.

I called the electric company because they sent me a $39 bill.  They came and checked the meter.  All OK.

They're picking the last bit of soybeans and milo - and the wineries are busy busy.

Hey maybe we'll get a mild winter !

I got the Calvin out for a couple hundred miles on Friday morning. First long ride I've been able to get in, since I got her home and back together. A bit windy, but still lots of fun. Stopped in to have a meatloaf sandwich and chat up the cute girl behind the counter at Luther's famous smokehouse in LeRoy, KS, while I was out.

Another day of unseasonably warm temps here in Eastern Ontario (Lanark County).  23C and mostly sunny!?!?!

One more blast thru the Tatlock/Calabogie roads before putting the T120 to bed for the winter.  sigh.

Now for a shot of 15yo Macallan to celebrate the end of the riding season and to contemplate the good things that this season has brought.

Tomorrow I pull the battery and put her to bed.

But today, Life is Good.
