Title: Painter
Post by: Kevin M on November 08, 2020, 10:20:58 PM
I’m looking for someone to paint my California II. Just looking for a stock repaint so nothing too wild or crazy. I live in central Illinois. Any referrals would be appreciated.

I’ve been painting for near 50yr after training in my uncles body shop   I’ve restored dozens of guzzi’s.  As with most everything prep is the most important step.  I usually start with sandblasting, doing any dent repair then a coat of etching primer followed by a coat of two part filler primer. Lots of wet sanding.....another coat of filler primer, more wet sanding..... then hopefully it’s ready for color decals and clear coat.
Thx dave

I painted my Cal II myself, trying to stay as close to the original design as possible. The Chrome was not good on my fenders,so I scuffed the chrome, and painted that area in a bright silver. MG cycle carries the decals.
Rick.

I think the silver on the fender looks great.

I believe Dave Swanson has a painter in Illinois that he likes.
