Title: Driving Lights
Post by: j.davis on November 12, 2020, 04:45:01 AM
Stedi spots and a skene controller on my V85tt.
LED, they look yellow in these pics due to me not being head on to the lens, and running them at 30% as DRL's.
I have the spots angled slightly outwards towards the side of the road where the skippies hide.

bit of a fan of a proper LED DRL. Especially on older bikes with marginal charging.

+1 on aux lights. If they can see you, they might be less likely to run out in front of you!

I'm a member of the cheap Amazon Hillsking brand sideshooter LED's. Bright white light the casts far and wide for $28.99 shipped :thumb:

Actually like them a lot better than a set of Rigid LED that cost 5X as much.

Here are mine, 10 Watts each.

I bought them years ago and finally found a use for them. They came with an integral 2 ft cable which I ran into the headlight bucket.

I recently suppressed my usual "HOW F**KING MUCH?" reaction to the price of decent LED Spots, and forked out for a pair of Rigid Industries D-Series Pro Spot SM/2s.

Some of the best money I've ever spent, and to be honest, if I added up the cost of all the cheap (fairly useless) ones I've bought over the last few years . . . well, you know the rest.

Instant daylight, I'm purposely seeking out unlit roads at night now, just to use them!

Only problem is, they show up just how inadequate the Dipped Beams are, so I've had to replace the Headlight bulbs with LEDs too.
