My V11 Sport has suddenly decided to make a horrible screeching noise as soon as I start to pull it in.
It's been sat for a couple of months ue to totally crap weather here.
Souns fine when let fully out.
Has the release bearing gone bye bye?
Help!

That's what it sounds like, throwout bearing shot. Check your trans fluid for proper level when erect. It sits in trans behind the clutch slave cylinder, 3 bolts.

That seems like a strange thing to be concerning yourself with at such a moment...

To make sure there is oil for bearing otherwise it squeels.

Well it's quite cold here in the UK tonight, but I'll do my best to check the oil level while erect...
On a more serious note, the throwout bearing gets oiled from the gearbox oil, Right?
What's involved in getting the slave cylinder off? What else has to be taken off first...

Yes, oiled from trans. It is almost center in front of swingarm to the inside of output ujoint. Most likely swingarm removal is easiest on V11 Sport series.
Here's a manual---https://guzzitek.org/atelier/gb/1100/V11_99_03_AtelierMAJ01.pdf

As I recall there are 3 beveled head allen screws holding the slave cylinder to the transmission case. The bevels frequently sieze in the bevel area to the slave cylinder. Using an allen socket I always gave them a right smart smack before attempting removal. They are quite small and soft and break off or strip out the allen easily.

Oil level was good.
Noise has stopped so could have just been a dry bearing due to being laid up for a couple of months...

Turns out it was the starter button staying in! Who'da thunk it...
