Title: Eye tracking video
Post by: Rich A on December 20, 2020, 08:05:27 PM
I thought this video, which tracks riders' eye movements on the race track, a country road, and in town, was interesting. It's a bit long, and I fast forwarded quite a bit, but it made me think about where I should be looking when riding.

I found this article useful in understanding how my eyes perceive the scene: https://www.portsmouthctc.org.uk/a-fighter-pilots-guide-to-surviving-on-the-roads/

We use eye tracking vids from the UK to train our soccer players.  We show them how the great forwards have their heads on a swivel looking for the gaps.

Cool.
I was watching Mahomes' eye tracking vs the Saints.
I would think that a racer would want to control the rate of his re-checks somewhat lower than maximum and just reliably check the same cues for each task (corner).
