Often, when I read a comment that I question on WG, I wonder if the poster is 35, 55, or 75+. Typically, if I look at their profile, they don't list their age. Is this because they think it might make them more susceptible to being scammed, or make it easier for them to be found on social media?
I only ask because sometimes a response from a WG member makes me wonder their age ....... in other words, what in their age group might guide their response.
Some WG members post their age in their profile, most don't.
Just curious.
BTW - 78 end of January, 2021.

Bob, you’re an inspiration to me at 67! This coming June will be my 50th year of riding.
-
It will be #74 for me in 3 weeks and I still love riding my motorcycle.....Moto Guzzi of course !!! The Kid
-
Well any bike weighing more than 350#s has got to go. With 3 exceptions, out of 11, they are all sport or ex race bikes. It's still big fun, but pay-'back' the next day is serious. My mileage has dropped like a stone. 88 yrs. old, last October. My goal has always been meeting Fred Marsh's 101 yrs. old and still riding.
I began @ 16. Developed a 'need' for riding serious distances quickly. Did the same in business with cars, trucks & buses. It was a hoot while it lasted. R3~
RS125, CX125, 150, V50, 2X V65 Lario, V7 IIIR, Daytona, RD400, T500 2Stroke Cafe`bike, GB500TT. Currently plated excepting the Cafe` bike.

63 years young. Ride a 2011 Goldwing, 2013 Stelvio, and a 1971 Honda CB 750 Chopper.
Maybe soon to be 2005 Moto Guzzi Breva 750ie.....Thats pending sale negotiations. :bike-037:

I’m 44. Still haven’t grown up. Don’t know if I ever will.
-
I'm 87. I went from a two-wheeler to a four-wheeler a couple years ago for my travels to the mid-west rallies. I have a mild heart condition and didn't want to be out on the road and have an accident.
-
^^^^^ I want to be like the other Chuck when I grow up..
-
Old enough to know better, young enough not to care😂
67 years young!
-
In 22 days I'll no longer be 50 something.
-
age = 61.
IQ = same.
-
Hey, I'm 67 last month. Don't care if I get out and ride or go to rallies anymore, over 400,000mi on my own Guzzi's. I done my share. And I'll keep riding a long time, got a 3rd wheel.
Thanks for the inspiration Bob.
-
"60" I think,maybe, as far as I can remember!
-
Doesn't bother me to tell my age, 53 right now.
The angst is that my wife claims to never know or remember her age. when it's needed, she asks me how old she is. I think it's a test.
-
66.
Looking at this post, Guzzi has long term survival issues
-
Just turned 73 and have never been without a bike in the garage since I was 16. seven was the high, down to 3 now. at least temporally.
-
Not afraid to post my age-78 Feb 1. Why are some so afraid to post the state they live in? Are that many Guzzi riders in the witness protection program?
Tex

75, mostly ride an Audacebut I have a V7lll waiting to become my main ride. Currently just does local duty. Been ridiing since 1965 on Yamahas and switched to BMW in '68 then MG in '19. Should have done that a long time ago. Almost bought a new Ambassador in 1970.

Not afraid - just astonished. Currently 69, going on 25.

Started using a long forgotten system of measurement left behind in a cave not far from here by aliens . I am either 2064 years old , or 17 , haven't quite translated a couple of symbols .

So much for the young vibrant Moto Guzzi crowd. You people have belly button lint older than me. And I'm 62 and getting ready to pull the trigger on SS.

That's what I did. Wait till 66? Pah! Bird in the hand, you know .... !

I'll be 74 in June, still on 2,wheels, a 750 Breva. Had to get rid of the 1100 Cali due to aging issues and parking issues when I moved 2 years ago. Try to ride whenever the weather allows. Haven't missed a month in quite some time.
-
78 middle of March; only have an old Honda left in garage (CM 450A) Do not ride it much (eye sight a bit sketchy, wind is really bothersome). THINKING OF PUTTING TOGETHER AN ELECTRIC BIKE THIS WINTER (scuse the caplock). Last winter I did cheap Walmart bike and two stroke kit. Been on powered two wheeler since 1956!

Yeah I know too many people who kept putting off and now they get to spend it as either a widow or widower.
-
63 now. 64 in a few months. After all that I have survived I am stoked to still be here. I never thought that I would reach 60. Neither did anyone else. I know that there are quite a few of you that have been through more. It is good to be alive.
-
Turned 73 a couple of months ago. Still riding daily but not always on a Guzzi. - forced me to buy an Indian FTR1200 followed closely by an Indian Chief. Loving it!
-
Age & location are in my profile.(82yearsin January) . Location info would be helpful.
-
Younger than some, older than some. 😜
-
Will be 79 next month.
I rode the Mighty Convert yesterday.
-
69 in a couple months. I'm down to lightweight bikes requiring little fuss.
-
I am 66, will be 67 August of 2021... :thumb:
Retired now, living in northern AZ, (Village of Oak Creek), and I have no regrets or issues about my age...and besides, there's no looking back anyway!
I've been riding motorcycles every year since age 14. Have owned 34 bikes of all shapes and sizes during my time. :thumb:
I hope and pray that 2021 will be a better year for ALL of us! Happy New Year!
-
👌👍👍
-
Started riding in 1972. I’m 70 now with no intentions of growing up. Currently riding a V9 Roamer and loving it.
-
60 for this ole git !!
Cheers Guzzler
Ps just took my Dad out for a wee drive round our neck o the woods ( he's staying with us for New Years ) and we saw quite a few laden 4wd's etc heading home from hols.
We laughed that that was us a mere 50 years ago!
Where the hell does the time go?
-
No Guzzi in the garage at the moment. I'm down to two bikes which I really enjoy riding:
- 1991 R100GS "bumble bee" that I've owned since new. Now at over 160,000 miles.
- 2016 Bonneville T120 I bought barely used Nov of 2019 with 1600 miles showing. Now at approx 7500. Sweet bike.
I'd probably like a smallblock if it felt (to me) more like a big block. I suspect a small block is an acquired taste. I hated my GS for the first couple of thousand miles, but over time it grew on me (obviously!)
Happy New Year to all!!

I'm surprised by your question.
People fear the stereotypes age brings either old or young, human nature me thinks.
Some us don't really care, some do.
:-)

I'll be 67 by the time we start rallying again.
Do you guys ever wonder just howinhell you got so old ? Seriously , it goes by so fast .

Anyone over the age of 50 who is applying for a job or to start a new career will find out real quick that it's NOT a good idea to put your age, or the year you graduated college, or whatever on your resume.
Age discrimination is everywhere, and although illegal, it's almost impossible to prove that it's being engaged in, especially if you haven't been hired yet ... !

Just turned 66....and thankful that I can still fold myself onto the sport bikes in the stable without issue.

In this case its about posting your age on a social? media site where age is really irrelevant other than invoking a stereotype, as those with spots and those past their prime.
In my mind its about perception not qualification. To some folks posting age and location on a public forum would be considered an invasion of their privacy.
Had my New Year and I'm still sober! Must be the non alcoholic wine.
Happy New Year!

Sounds like you need another Griso
-
Don't encourage me, Steve! I could see selling the Bonneville T120, and searching for a nice rollered Griso ...... then doing what it would take to smooth out the suspension so the bike and I could cope with Ohio's frost heaved secondary roads. Because that's where I like to ride.
I will always remember my ride back home to NE Ohio from Dahlonega GA in 2012. Much of it was on Interstate, and I found the Griso to be a really fine machine. It was only when I got home and began riding my favorite roads that the suspension began killing me.
I found (aside from suspension) the Griso was one hell of an impressive machine. Since they're no longer made, it might be the time to locate one. I think they'll be a classic in the next few years (IMHO)

Old Question. "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are.?"
Some folks are old early in life and others never get old.

The calendar says I am 65. Some mornings I feel physically older. Most of the time my brain says I am 29. Happy enough to still be around to post this. Just wish time would slow down to the pace I remember in 7th grade math class.

One of my grandfathers lived to be 102. He drove until he was 101 and a half. He was amazing. WW1 vet.
He visited us when we lived on the north shore of Oahu when he was in his 70's and he swam so far out into the ocean he looked like he was headed for the Aleutians. My dad was on the roof of the house watching him with binoculars. Grandpa was out there for about an hour.
When he was in his late 80's I watched him set roof trusses while balancing on top of a 12' high wall slightly less than 6" wide.
I have never met anyone with his vitality at his ages. I certainly don't have it.
Age is more than a number.

67 years old here...

I landed my current IT Director job by featuring my newest MS degree in 2017 and cutting about 20 years of work history and other dating information from my resume. Fortunately I don't look or act 64 either. Had I been fully transparent I suspect I would not have been hired.

Bob, you are an inspiration, as are many of you guys still getting after it in ehem, later years.
I can only hope and pray I'm riding the 1200 Sport when I am 67 (when you bought the bike). Replacement parts aside, I have so many injuries creeping up on my 57 year old frame we will see. Planning a hack for one of my bikes in the future.
Planning two big rides post retirement (3 years at 60), one to see a MLB game in every stadium on the Convert or 1200 S, and then dream is an Alaska to Brazil ride with one of my buddies, maybe on the Stornello.

Steve, I just got off the phone with my buddy, Tom. You met him here when you took delivery of the 1200 Sport. We were talking about the Sport, and the good times on our 2011 ride to Montana and back. I think she'll be good to you, too! A bit more gentle on the knees and wrists than my Griso was.
I'm going to chase every opportunity to get the C-19 - as soon as I can. I'm having grandiose thoughts about 'one more ride' out West, on either the R100GS (once I drop the suspension 3/4" or so, or on the T120. I was plotting out some Google Maps using my directions from a 2005 trip. Don't think a future first day ride would be from here to Hannibal Missouri, though!
Good hearing from you. Happy New Year!

67. Mom made it to 102 so I figure I'll be around for some time. Still working full time, have a job I can stay at until I feel like leaving. Planning to go at 70, maybe. Consulting part time is an option, too. An old building code guy like me can write my own ticket in the private sector. Still strong, no plans to stop riding anytime soon.

Going to be 55 on April 13 /21 !
Another 45 to go and Goal Reached , hopefully many many more on two 'Guzzi' Wheels.

Going on 73. Still own and enjoy my 98 EV. But my riding in the last 3 years has dropped from about 15,000 miles per year to about 5000. I still feel confident on the EV, but I had to lower my FJR and my 1200 Bandit in order to keep riding them. But that simple mod really improved my confidence on those two bikes. Unfortunately my desire to go camp on a bike has all but vanished. Just too damn painful. But I sure enjoyed it for the last 23 years. Since turning 50 I've enjoyed about 330,000 miles touring and camping. I'll keep riding but with more moderate expectations.

Age wasn't part of my profile because no one ever asked before now.
It's there now Bob for you and anyone else here who wants to look it up.
Usually when I start out (anywhere) I'm younger than most, but when I leave, I'm older than most. Bought my Guzzi 2 years ago, and still amongst the younger of us (60's).
