Title: Rare Italian Monkey Bike

Not the typical Benelli, this is a Garelli Bronco, never seen or heard of it. Huge seat on a tiny bike!

A schoolmate had one back around '73 or so. I don't know where he bought it or where it ended up. He was a bit hard on machinery, so likely the scrap yard.

Those large seats are a very finite-period trend around late 60's-early 70's on the mini bike market, probably trying to cash in on the chopper trend.    The Simplex I just had had a similar big seat.

Should have taken pics when Chris rode it over here the other day.  After he cleaned it up, the seat looked even bigger.

 My older cousin had one of those. He was always calling my dad to help with a problem he was having. He went on to buy a first year Z900 and used it for touring. He gave me the
touring bug I think but I started on Harleys. I wasted too many years on those before I got a Ducati. Hindsight.

I also always like the Benelli 180cc Volcano from 1970...That had kind of a BIG SEAT also!! :laugh: :grin: :wink:

Not Italian, but when I was a kid, THIS Bonanza mini-bike with the awesome Hodaka Ace 100 motor would have been to die for!!!  Remember?!?  By the way, also, with a Big Ass Seat!! :laugh: :grin: :wink: :rolleyes: :huh:

I worked on a Volcano last year. Too much power for those tiny wheels and short wheelbase. Scared the crap out of me.
