Title: COTA Postponed Indef
Post by: LowRyter on January 28, 2021, 01:14:16 PM
Just saw that COTA MotoGP has been taken off the schedule, no make-up date yet.

- bites again.  All kinds of travel restrictions now with 14 day quarantine.  Not surprised.

I was planning to go there again.

And I have thoughts for my friend & WG member Mike (MJP) from Austin.  Thoughts be with him.

We were told last week that Moto GP has been postponed to end of year and that is what the website says. Did what you see say the same or different?

I don't have any info.  If I read you right, no USGP this year?  Or just late this year?

All I read was it was postponed indefinitely.

MotoGP official site is leaving it open for a late fall possibility, but I'm not holding out much hope.

I went ahead and scheduled vacation for a trip to ride down to the Texas Hill Country first week of May (Debra wants it a little warmer for the ride down than April).

We've been told at COTA it will be in Sept.

MotoGP site shows the date as TBD. It has neither been confirmed nor cancelled. Carmelo is holding his cards close.
Last race on the list except an Indonesian race as a reserve so ... how's the weather in Texas in November?

Weather is great at that time of year...once you get past the summer sauna season, it's wonderful for about 9 months.

Would be nice if they do hold it...COTA is a great location and wonderful track.

No one knows what travel restriction will be in place in Sept.  Two weekends in mid-Sept are already booked in Italy and Spain.  Followed by 4 Asian races in Oct (which seems optimistic).

November weather is a crapshoot but so is April.
