Title: Staintune ceases production
Post by: Mackers on January 30, 2021, 01:45:24 AM
From FB yesterday....

Staintune

With great sadness i have to announce the closure of Staintune Aust Pty Lltd. No one has made a bid at the auction so the company will now be dismantled. All machines and equipment will be auctioned through Pickles Auction House. The last Staintune mufflers have been made and will be boxed and stored away. I would like to extend a huge thank you to all our customers in the past. Such a emotional time. To say I'm gutted would be an understatement. Such a loss to manufacturing and the motorcycle industry.

Ya that's horrible.
Very fine and well built exhaust systems IMO.

I was very lucky to get a full system for my 1000S about 6 months ago.  Last of the line.  Fantastic products!  So sad.

Bad news.

I have about 250,000 miles on my full Staintune system installed on my '04 Rockster (R1150R) trouble free.
Had many compliments on the sound and look of the system.

Wish you fellows well on your next venture.

Business can be great and sometimes brutal.

Good luck.

Real shame that he couldn’t find someone to take over. Superb products. I’ve had Staintunes on Ducati’s, Moto Guzzi’s and BMWs. My last find is a slip on for my K75 S. Not obnoxious, but now sounds like a proper motorcycle.

When I did the pipe on my Norge in ‘08, they re jigged their machine to make me a 400 mm long can.
Standard is 500.

That's sad.  I had Staintunes on both of my Ducati Monsters.
I also once bought one and installed it in a pharmaceutical cleanroom, to muffle an eductor system.

That's too bad. Great product. I've had them on my 2001 Bonnie for 15 years and they continue to sound better with age.

Sad.
An excellent company with an excellent product.
They did a complete rebuild on my mk3 lemans left hand muffler ans a repolish iif the complete system 3 years ago.
Product backup 27 years after purchase, outstanding.
Staintune emerged back in the early 1980s, when we had super fuel and standard exhausts died of tinworm in less than a year and there was limited options in replacement.
Fast forward 40 years all new bike come with stainless steel exhausts from new with little to be gained in performance by changing them.
I wish Sandy and his crew well whatever they do, they worked hard, gave great service for near on 40 years.
