Title: NGC Italian Pocket Rocket
Post by: Canuck750 on February 08, 2021, 08:47:34 PM
I remember oogling these when they first hit the showroom, cool then, cool today. The dangerous thing is this bike is for sale in my back yard.

Being 61, with a decent beer gut and a bad back it would be just perfect   :boozing:

I've ridden the 50  and the 250, not the 125.  The 250 was a hoot !

I had the ultimate corner technique for these described to be, pick a gear, hold it flat and tell yourself it will hang on and it will. This was from someone who was a fairly acomplished local club racer after he took for a run on a local road. Be intresting how the newer 660 compares I still maintian to the day the 250 was the best handling bike I have ever ridden couldn't live with the power delivery.

What a fun bike! Mine, bought new in 2013 has 23K mi. No problems at all- but I have washed the power valve 3X. ~30 minute job. Be mindful: It only weighs 280# wet. Original gearing under ideal conditions will get you to 115 -17 m/h. I geared down to 100. Too many long twisted hills. Yes. You have to enjoy changing gears. For me that is a big part of the charm. It may have the smoothest trans., bar none. Handling is precise. Brakes are wonderful, as is the suspension. The real beauty of the bike is in the design and execution. i.e. hollow axles and more. I always have a few 2 strokes - but this one, come spring, may prove I can no longer foldup my body that tight, for fun.   R3~

Buy it.  You'll feel better knowing that your tombstone might read

"Died like an idiot riding a little bike over his head!"
than
"Died like an old wimp from -!"
