Title: PC3 serial software?
Post by: PaulH on February 09, 2021, 07:46:48 AM
Does anyone know if the software to program a serial port equipped Power Commander 3 exists?  I've got one on my 03 Stone that i recently bought, I recall downloading it along with some decent base tunes for my 03 titanium, but now all they have on the power commander site is software and tunes for the USB version, which seems to be incompatible with the serial one.

Alternatively, does anyone have a decent bin for the stock ECU they'd be willing to share? Bike is a stock hydro motor with an open airbox lid, drilled stock pipes and a mistral h-pipe.

Contact Todd over at GuzziTech, he may have the stuff for older PC3.

Have you tried contacting Dynojet via their contact link on the website?

Just emailed dynojet, they make it really difficult to find an email address, and their contact form doesnt list moto guzzi as an option, so I'm not holding out great hope for them. Also posted over on guzzitech.

Throw away the PC3. It is extra baggage that will fail.

Use GuzziDiag. Much easier anyway.

 This is probably what I'll do, but I figured i'd at least try it, they do work, but I completely agree that they're pretty outdated at this point now that guzzidiag exists.

Power Commanders can be made to work , but as Wayne said , they are also prone to fail at really inopportune moments . They are basically just a fancy spoofer , load that red thing in a trebuchet and launch it at a concrete wall .

Where does one find maps for the older bikes?  I would rather not have to learn to use TuneECU and guess near a hundred different settings.

Beetle maps. I don't remember the contact for him. Check the Guzzidiag thread or maybe one will post the contact here.

Honestly , the stock mapping on an '03 model will be pretty close to perfect , there is a better chance messing with it will make it worse instead of better . beetle can be reached on the Griso Ghetto site , I know he has played with the older P15 computer some , but I think even he has said it is hard to improve upon .
