Has any one built a Super/hyper Motard Quota?

A Quotard? I think the quota is a bit heavy for that. They handle surprisingly well as is.

The Quota may be heavy but dropping the front from a 21" to 17" will reduce the rotating mass (hopefully go tubeless). Reduce the gyroscopic effect and put more weight on the front end for much quicker and planted steering.
I have know folks who have done this on GS series bikes and have been quite pleased with the result.
I say do it!

Those Motoschmitz Quotards use a different front end.
IMO a supermoto is a dirtbike bike (350 lbs or there about) converted into a sportbike by adding 17" wheels and suspension tuning. Think a track day bike that can do some small jumps as well. I had a Ktm 640 supermoto and they are great fun.
What you would be building is a standard with adventure bike styling queues. ( I do not consider ducati hypermotards and the like supermotos)
Could be amazing, or the 17" wheel might quicken up the steering to much.

Now what? I got a Quota. Needs turn signals, a quick turn screw in side cover, nut for odometer reset button, fluid change battery, two tires and good cleaning.
Has replacement of oem rims with Excel rims front, exhaust crossover and rear Power Commander, rear lowered 1 inch, shortened side stand. I think I will keep it as is. The Seller took the luggage off to sell on ebay. He has another one for $1,000. He didn't tell he had two. I would have bought them both.

After you get it up and running and before you sink money into it take it for a ride and see if you can tolerate the buffeting. Then proceed accordingly. I loved a lot about my Quota, comfortable, I love the 1100 motor and decent suspension. Anytime I hit any thing over 60 MPH I felt like I was at Sherwin William and my head was locked in the paint shaker. Anything over 70/75 and vision was blurred not from speed but violent buffeting along with wind noise that can only be described an ambulance. The 1st time I hit a stretch of highway and got the bike up on plane I hear what I thought was a loud siren. I got in the right lane slowed down and looked fore and aft and there was nothing. Sped up and the shrill noise reappeared.
I like a lot about my Quota but could not stand the buffeting and wind noise. Hope you do not have the same experience as it makes the bike intolerable.
If you are looking to motard a big bike might I suggest sourcing a Hexhead GS that already handles well then get a set of RT wheels that get you the ability to use 120/180 series sport tires and cuts down the weight and speeds up the steering. My GS with RT wheels is a a lot of fun.

Ditch the Excel rims and get the Sun rims by Buchanen as thats what Guzzi approved under warranty on my Quota after the rims cracked front and rear at the nipples

Problem is unless you really love the bike the cost of new hoops will really offset the value of the bike. Wadda about the exhaust collector, if keeping it too should be addressed.
Again before i dumped money into it (money that will not increase the value) I'd ride it a while to make sure its a keeper or catch & release.

Agree just pay close attention to them I believe the Akronts that were on the earlier bikes didn't do it. I loved my Quota for nearly 130k miles it was an excellent bike for mebut now the Griso is my new love

i've owned two and they are great bikes. I never experienced any buffeting. maybe it was because I'm tall.

It feels to me that a motard weighing over 350 pounds defeats the purpose. Same with hanging cylinders off the sides. Maybe a really light Ducati twin, but ideally a highly tuned single. Must be at least a bit irresponsible. How about a KTM 300 two stroke wrapped in sticky tires? My wife thinks I’m hyper and also a motard, sometimes at the same time.

Collector has been replaced and Super trap muffler installed. Dyna fuel controller installed and dyna tuned.
Bike had 1 inch shorter dogebone and shorter side stand.
Actually a big heavy bike, To big for hyper motard.
I have put over 1,000 miles on it in two days, in the back of my truck.
I am going to take the bike apart and put it back together. It needs some tlc.

The $1,000.00 Quota is not hyper, but lives. 200 hours, $1,500 in parts. Restorations are a labor of love.

Yes, it was on top of the engine stuck in dried sand mud. When installed on dash, it will not turn. I left it hang and can reach it behind the fairing.

are you running stock front forks on that racer? I did a similar conversion but had a 17inch front hoop made, geometry is awesome but the stock marzocci suspension just feels a bit soft

Sport 1100/Bassa forks. Magni swingarm. A weight loss on frame, wheels and clutch.

Taking the Quota to the mud. Never gets out of first gear. Wrestling a 600 pound motorcycle in the wet, mud, narrow trails is way beyond my ability.

From way back when I saw a picture of a Superquotard made out of a Quota 1000 way back in the day, based on a blue one I think in Europe. Can't remember much else about it, so in the answer has it been done before, yes yes it has.

As far as the wind buffetig I removed the mirrors and installed bar ends made a huge improvement
