That's a macbook not an iPad right? Are you the administrator of the mac? Are there other users on your Mac and could it have downloaded to a different user than yourself?
How old is the Mac and is the OS up to date? If it's an older OS that "could" be the problem.

Hmm, can't help I guess, can you ask Beatle? I think he developed the Guzzidiag? But he's not on this site as far as I know. I think he's at the Guzzighetto. Or maybe send a PM to PaulDaytona?

Found a fix!
Apparently you ctrl+click on it and select 'open' in that menu, must bypass something or other. Dunno. Might have to move it somewhere local like the desktop too. Dunno what 'local' means here either. But it works, lets plug that mother in

Let us know if you get it to work. I've read quite a few reports of GuzziDiag not working on Macs.
I have a MacBook Air, running MacOS 10.13.6, High Sierra.
Mahalo!

On the download site are some mac tips. For the rest, it's doing nothing special, but needs the right rights to run. Apple changes it's OS so often, every time something breaks. We don't own a mac, and certainly not al versions where old punters work with. So we can't test. Lots of Apple users get it going.
So get the environment right and have the right driver with the right permissions so Guzzidiag can see the port.

We don't own a mac,
too bad, you don't know what your missing. Especially if you do any video work.

I'm just moving it onto a PC, seems not worth the effort trying to argue with apple updates

hard to find this FTDI driver?
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%202.08.30%20WHQL
Do I need it?
What does IAW stand for?
How come nobody ever mentions a P8 in the tutorial?
Do I need the reader/writer software too?
When I opened it on the mac it was very basic in the 'actors' section. Like three buttons, injector, ignition, fuel pump? I thought you could set TPS/CO/etc, ? Maybe not this model?

That’s the impression I’ve been getting.
Not sure if it’s worth the effort and cost to invest in a PC just for one program.

The P8 computer is read only. To change anything you have to swap to a different burnt eprom. To adjust Co you use the trimpot.
