That's a great looking display, Jim.

I'm curious about production details. Are there knowledgable chaperones like club members present while the display is open to answer questions and provide basic supervision & security?   In recent years, we've had to both watch the special display bikes and cordon them off at our events. Otherwise, we turn around and somebody (usually a kid or wanna-be calendar girl) is on a bike like it's a jungle gym or a park bench.   It's still a job that needs to be done  because some don't even care about the rope or signs.

The cut away motor steals the show for me, I have never seen such a complete job, even the starter and the solenoid. WOW! That is definitely a love of labor.

Ride Safe.

Canadians are more polite than Americans , they will always ask before climbing on a motorbike not belonging to them .

WOw, you boys came to play! Nice selection and the staging is great. That cutaway engine is so dang impressive! I need to go back thru that thread, I dont remember seeing the stand details... Is the toggle switch for internal lighting?

Very impressive display for sure always amazing how many rare examples can come out of the woodwork. I assume from other comments you did the cutaway yourself, very nice. I have an article in an old Cycle World about Herb Harris the well known Vincent collector and of course it was mainly about them but a second feature was his cutaway collection. 2 different Square Fours, Vincent, Triumph, and a complete BSA Gold Star and many more. The BSA had everything cut open, shocks, forks, gas and oil tanks etc. and I believe it was from a factory display  at the launch of the model. Some of his engines were motorized as well.

We are fortunate to have over 100 members in our local CVMG section so we are able to have at least 4 members attend each day of the show over the next 5 weeks ( we may extend for one more month and change out bikes at some time). The mall is paying us $100 per bike up to $2500 in mall gift cards which the members who display a bike return $50 to the club to fund our annual X-Mas party and pay for our monthly meeting venue (when - restrictions end). I made up a display card for each bike mounted to foam core board that provides the basics on the machine and relevance in history and the owner and a member provided music stands to hold each card,
We have little problem with folks crossing the barrier but it does happen and being older guys a quick 'hey don't do that' usually suffices.
If - had not been a reality we would have had many more rare machines on display, due to members age and health many could not show their pre-war Indians, Harleys, Panthers, Triumphs, BSA, etc..
The Mall also provided the hand sanitizer stations, the barricades and a security guard that regularly checks in. When we are not open the lights remain on and there are instructions indicating our weekend opening times.

As to the cut away, I did that a couple years back, the cutting of the aluminum was pretty easy with a 4" angle grinder and an aluminum cut-off wheel plus an auto body flat file. These are older pics before I added the starter. The switch turns on the 12v LED light strips inside the stand. I drew the stand in AutoCad and had the 3/16" steel water jet cut. If anyone wants the CAD or PDF file just pm me.
